Phin fan since 1970!
Throw the ball to Bush, egnew, Clay or Bess, or Miller and let CB #1 shutdown Hartline sometimes. Other players will be open.
Ah, so I guess dumping one of the best YAC receivers in the league and relying on one of the worst to be our #1 was a good idea...........................................................................................................
Wait, what?
Fortunately this year, on any given play, the QB will have 5 options instead of 2 or 3 and he won't have to force the ball to the guys covered by the best defenders
I guess you can look at it like more opportunities for mistakes or more opportunities for success. So, we have twice as many options for mistakes ... and it takes twice as long to go through the progressions, thus holding the ball twice as long? "Fortunately??"
Is that an actual fact?
it's gonna be a rude awakening when hartline is matched up against #1 cb's and is completely shut down for some of you. I keep hearing this offense doesn't have a true #1, that's fine and all but we don't even have anyone close to Greg Jennings on our team..

So much of YAC has to do with the QB being accurate with the football and not just comp % but the ability to lead a WR in stride. Honestly, I don't think Moore has that type of accuracy. Garrard better, but not great. I could see Tannehill being a bit more successful with his ability to throw on the run.
What a disappointing list.http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/p...ivingYardsAfterCatch/qualified/false/count/41
Wait, what???? 47th in YAC with a pathetic 319....Hell, Reggie Bush beat him by two spots and two yards!!! So yeah, this was a fail thread.
What a disappointing list.
Reggie Bush #45 with 321 yards of YAC (on 43 receptions...7.47 yards per catch average)
Brandon Marshall #47 with 319 yards of YAC (on 81 receptions...3.94 yards per catch average)
Davone Bess #87 with 226 yards of YAC (on 51 receptions...4.43 yards per catch average)
Anthony Fasano #184 with 111 yards of YAC (on 32 receptions...3.47 yards per catch average)
Charles Clay #215 with 84 yards of YAC (on 16 receptions...5.25 yards per catch average)
Brian Hartline #219 with 81 yards of YAC (on 35 receptions...2.31 yards per catch average)
Daniel Thomas #241 with 67 yards of YAC (on 12 receptions...5.58 yards per catch average)
Clyde Gates #441 with 0 yards of YAC (on 2 receptions...0.00 yards per catch average)
That's what we have coming back.
The new coaching staff has stated several times that all receivers will play various roles depending on the play and matchups. They're not looking for #1, #2, or #4. They're looking Wr's that can be used in many ways. So Hartline won't always be lined up with the other teams best CB.
yeah and now somehow hartline is supposed to fare so much better when he's now gonna be matched up more regularly with legit opposition or the top corners on the opposition...yeah right...like i said it better be some serious scheme and overload wr type stuff if this gonna work...
Have you not read on this board that Hartline is the second coming of Jordy Nelson? lol
What a disappointing list.
Reggie Bush #45 with 321 yards of YAC (on 43 receptions...7.47 yards per catch average)
Brandon Marshall #47 with 319 yards of YAC (on 81 receptions...3.94 yards per catch average)

Clyde Gates #441 with 0 yards of YAC (on 2 receptions...0.00 yards per catch average)
That's what we have coming back.
so i take it you don't think the opposition is gonna want to line up their top corner on whoever they feel is the biggest threat whenever possible??? i can tell ya that they will...and they should...if hartlines the biggest threat in this wr core barring what i keep sayin some serious scheme genius we are screwed
Most teams dont float the CB's. Generally, a RCB will play the right side and LCB plays the left side and they dont move around. The nickle might move but generally teams dont move around their CB's. The Raiders did it a little with Asomugha but I havent seen many others do it.
