Tua is objectively and provably a very similar passer to Burrow.Wow, you really think Tua is the same level of passer as Burrow who carried his team to a Super Bowl. Interesting take.

Last year Cincys defense was a s*** show but Burrow kept them competitive due to his elite passing skills. When has Tua ever put the team on his back like Burrow did just last year? It’s not even a serious debate, nobody outside of finheaven thinks Tua is on Burrows level as a passing QB.Both Burrow and Tua are career 68% completion QB’s. Burrow throws for about 40 more yards per game than Tua (which is a decent difference). Burrow throws about one TD pass more per 200 passes than Tua which would average out to about 3 TD passer more per season. Tua throws about 3 more INT’s per season, on average, than Burrow. Burrow has started 5 more games over 5 seasons, but mainly because he’s been the de facto starter since 2020 and Tua hasn’t been. They’ve both missed about the same number of games due to injury.
Wins, whether they be regular season or playoffs, are team stats.
I think Burrow has been the better QB, but not by much. And definitely not enough to claim that Tua couldn’t have helped lead that same Cinci team to the same successes that Burrow has. Nor is their small differences enough to say that Burrow would have had the same successes in Miami.
The discussion was about sideline throws, focusing on medium/deep out type patterns.I’m discussing efficiency and proficiency. Tua has been top notch in both things in regard to deep passing. Better than Allen and Herbert, for example, who have very strong arms.
Awesome, "put a team on his back". Another nebulous catch phase.Last year Cincys defense was a s*** show but Burrow kept them competitive due to his elite passing skills. 43 TDs, 9 picks. 4918 passing yards and a 108.5 rating. Please.Awesome, "put a team on his back". Another nebulous catch phase.
Phinsup1981 said Tua has trouble with “deep outs”. That’s what I was discussing. The discussion was about sideline throws, focusing on medium/deep out type patterns.
Don't move the goal posts. I didn't see anyone post that Tua was, generally, inefficient as a passer. That is an entirely different thing.
So you only want to compare each player’s best seasons?43 TDs, 9 picks. 4918 passing yards and a 108.5 rating. Please.
I’ve literally never seen a QB carry even one teammate, much less his entire team, on his back.Awesome, "put a team on his back". Another nebulous catch phase.
Tough to say, was last year his best year or was it when he went to the SB? Tua isn’t even close to Burrows level after year 5, hopefully year 6 the light turns on for Tua. And stays on!So you only want to compare each player’s best seasons?
I get that bucket stats are all the rage, but if you really want to find out how good a player is there’s more to it than doing what you just did.
For Tua’s best season he had a 6.3 TD% compared to Burrow’s 6.6. 71 vs 73 comp% for Tua and Burrow, respectively. 1.8 vs 1.4 INT%… Burrow slightly better. 272 vs 289 yards passing per game… 17 yards more per game for Burrow.
Again, Burrow is slightly better… but he’s definitely not what you are insinuating in regard to being a lot better than Tua.
How about their entire careers… like I did a few posts ago? Same conclusion.Tough to say, was last year his best year or was it when he went to the SB? Tua isn’t even close to Burrows level after year 5, hopefully year 6 the light comes on for Tua. And stays on!
Idk man, all I know is outside of FH which is what I really care about, this isn’t even a debate. How about their entire careers… like I did a few posts ago? Same conclusion.
Did he go to the SB all by himself?
Not me. I don't want a type 3, run around QB. It's like watching a T-ball game, 1 kid running around the field.
Give me a Phalanx turret that can launch the ball all over the field.
If you find objective people who don’t use media talking points and hyperbole it’s definitely a debate. I mean, not really in that Burrow is the better QB, he is, but not by much.Idk man, all I know is outside of FH which is what I really care about, this isn’t even a debate.
I think the "sidelines" option is where there's a distinct limitation.
With Tua, sideline throws still have to be timing to a certain extent, with less room for error.
Now, if he can set up his foundation, step into it and drive the ball with perfect mechanics, not a huge issue. When he can't, he isn't beating coverage and it's a disaster waiting to happen.
Not saying you can't "work around" that reality, but it's silly to dismiss it with a hand wave as some do.
