Dolphins have 'expectation of mastery' for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa

I don’t disagree that Eli overall was at times underwhelming and even disappointing but during those playoff/Super Bowl runs years he was as onions as they get.

That throw to Tyree was between 4 defenders it wasn’t a good decision he got bailed out on that one. But the rest of it was whoof this dude is balling.
But if Tyree drops that pass, Eli has 1 ring instead of 2. Lot of QB's with 1 ring that aren't in the HoF, Eli is only being considered imo because he has 2.

I don’t think tua can make that Eli throw by the way vs that coverage. He doesn’t have the arm to throw it in there with that kind of pace on a line over the trail defender and in front of the safety.

But again that’s maybe the sickest throw in the history of football. It’s definitely the most clutch.

There’s zero room for error there and the execution is otherworldly.

Yeah maybe I don’t know I just know you can’t hold the qb accountable if the giants don’t win either of those bowls.

He more than did his part.

Right but he was a .500 regular season QB. Not taking anything away from his performances in the SB's, but if Tyree drops that helmet catch Eli's whole legacy changes, and he probably isn't considered a HoF level QB.

Point being, this game is about rising to the moment, that's often how you are remembered. My folks still talk about this defensive swat from QB Joe Theismann and how it won Washington the Super Bowl.

Yep but why do we play the game? To win super bowls. You’re right about his regular season play but those 2 runs and plays made during them make him a no doubter for the HOF. Those are legendary plays at the biggest moments.

Wow, you really think Tua is the same level of passer as Burrow who carried his team to a Super Bowl. Interesting take.
I'd argue his defense carried him to the Super Bowl. Burrow played efficient and didn't make any mistakes, he was more of a game manager than carrying anything.

Raiders - outgained 385 yards to 303 but they win the turnover battle 2-0 with a Carr int and a Carr fumble.
Titans - outgained 353 yards to 345 but hold Henry to 62 yards on 20 carries and win the turnover battle 3-1 with 3 interceptions of the pass master.
Chiefs - outgained 375 to 359 yards but yet again win the turnover battle 2-1 with 2 Mahomes interceptions
Super Bowl - outgained 313 to 305 yards. Won the turnover ball again 2-0 (2 ints from Stafford) but just fell short at the end. Burrow got the ball back with 1:25 left and down by 3 but couldn't get them into FG range turning the ball over on downs.

Defense got 8 interceptions in 4 playoff games, held Henry to 62 yards on 20 carries, in the Super Bowl held Cam Akers to 21 yards on 13 attempts while picking Stafford off twice. The defense was the catalyst for that Super Bowl run.

Last year Cincys defense was a s*** show but Burrow kept them competitive due to his elite passing skills. When has Tua ever put the team on his back like Burrow did just last year? It’s not even a serious debate, nobody outside of finheaven thinks Tua is on Burrows level as a passing QB.

Last year? The Dolphins might have been the worst team in the league without Tua yet with him they nearly made the playoffs. I'd argue they would have made the playoffs but for Tua being an idiot and not taking care of himself. 6-5 with him and 1-5 without him, is that not carrying a team?

Burrow is the last man standing as a true pocket progression QB. I’m not afraid to call him the best QB in the NFL. I understand conventional wisdom puts him behind Mahomes n Probly Allen to a lot of people. But go watch those bengals games the last few years. There’s not a QB in the league at the moment that dices defenses up the way he does. It’s out of this world QB play.

“Its a spot throw” 😂 “cut the WR”

Cut the qb for even trying 😂

I wonder what the pats thought after watching that on tape after the Super Bowl. I mean it’s literally indefensible.

Had to be wtf we didn’t see that coming.

That’s a tip the cap play.

No. When you run into a defender and knock yourself out for 4 weeks, then finish the year on IR again you aren't carrying jack s***. Not to mention his performance in the Texans game. Until Tua wins a game in the playoffs, he can't even be mentioned in the same breath as Joe Burrow as a legitimate NFL franchise QB.

He’s elite no doubt. I’m just more afraid of Josh Allen’s overall game.

I do think burrow is the closest thing to true pocket progression that we have in the league right now. They still run a lot of easy concepts etc but if I had to pick one it would be him.

Ain’t no one wrecking folks at the los with their mind like Peyton Manning used to. That all seems long gone these days.
