Don Banks: Biggest offseason mistake? Phins taking Culpepper over Brees

Brees wanted guaranteed big money and Saban felt it was too much risk based on the Fins doctor's opinion of Brees' shoulder. Brees decided on NO after we wouldn't guarantee big money because of the risk, Saban did the smart thing, who knew Daunte was going to suck?

Last year he had 6 TD's to 12 int's, was sacked 31 times, led his team to a 2-6 record, he had 5 lost fumbles after his first games. After his injury he was replaced with 37 year old journey man QB Brad Johnson who led the Vikings to a 7-2 record in the games he played. He managed to lead the team to 7 wins despite only throwing 4 TD passes in those 9 games that he played.

Maybe, just maybe that should have been a HUGE FREAKING INDICATOR!
