There's nothing unsafe about that neighborhood for dolphin games, and the location is the best available. Why don't you go to panther games? They have a nice little stadium right there in sunrise? Why? because they don't win! I don't hear much talk about how the neighborhood near the triple A sucks, Why?

If you are asking me why I don't go to the Panthers games, it's because I am not a Panthers fan. I am a Phins fan and would rather stay home and watch the Phins. With that said, I still go to a few every year when they do not conflict with the Dolphin games.

Were I a Charlotte fan, I would have season tickets being the stadium is less that thirty miles away and if I didn't think Cam Newton was such a dip $h!t, I could possibly at least pull for them as a second favorite team.

Was pretty packed. Better than most panthers games I go to.

Well that's another story. I don't like hockey myself. I have been to a few games here in Charlotte and it's tough to even follow the action.

I considered going, but I'm not going to pay 75 bucks a pop for myself and my wife (who doesn't even like football) for nosebleed seats, plus parking and overprice concessions which is going to make the outing about $200. I've considered making the 4 hour drive (both ways) and buying tickets if the price were lower, but I won't pay that much for a game. I take the same approach to concert ticket prices, for the record.

Some forms of entertainment in this country have taken the approach of charging an exorbitant amount for tickets where even if that excludes a certain percentage of their potential fans, they will still make their money because enough people will pay that ticket price that they will still make money. It's not a Dolphins organization thing, it's everywhere.

I've really wanted to go to a game, but with so little disposable money, I have to pick and chose what I want to do. If I could find affordable tickets, I'd be there.

There are some affordable tickets in games that aren't as marquee in nature. Cheapest tickets for the KC game are $40 right now. The Packers game is unique so they're at $60 currently while the game vs. San Diego is at $28.30 currently. The Jets game at the end of the year is currently around $60 for the cheapest b/c they know New York fans will want to be in Miami on December 28 to escape the ****ty winter.

I was there. .. Stadium packed. A few empties in nose bleeds. I would say at least at 95% capacity.

I was there. The heat was brutal, with some sweating out the beers faster than they could drink them, and taking a break to get out of the sun. However, in the second half, no one cared and it did remind me some of MANY fond memories of the OB.

Any Phan watching the seats instead of the game is hard for me to understand.

Jets fans are clueless. Opa Locka ia about 5 miles away from the Stadium. In South Florida 5 miles are two different universes. Not sure what stadium you went too but next time you should try the one in Miami Gardens which is right next to Miramar in Broward County.

You might have gone to St Thomas University which is still in Miami Gardens but right next to Opa Locka. It used to be the Dolphins training facility until they built it in Davie. So yeah, that stadium is mostly empty.

At the top of the broadcast at 1 PM they used a camera angle that caught a wide view of the upper deck. It was shockingly sparse, particularly in the upper rows. I imagine that image prompted this thread. It was indeed startling. Anybody in the stadium wouldn't have the same impression as the first glimpse we received on TV.

That stadium fills late and disperses at halftime. Nothing in town is more dependable. If you want a picture of max capacity use middle to late second quarter. It's completely different than the Orange Bowl, which remained constant throughout, and particularly during the '70s. That demographic showed up early and stayed to the absolute end.

As a Canes season ticket holder I don't mind the current trend. Sometimes it can be a bit cramped late in the first half, and too many people waltzing back and forth to go to the concessions stands or bathroom. I get sick of the, "Excuse me," while the same person forces us to stand up for the 9th time while returning to her seat. When that group departs at halftime there's a huge chance they'll never return. That's what happened Saturday night against Florida A&M. Moderate crowd to begin with but it was beyond my expectation. Our entire row was full along with the one immediately behind. But I'd estimate 75% of them left at halftime. By the end of the game our party were the only people in either row, and the section was all but abandoned.

It always looks empty in the aerial shots because Sun Life Stadium has slightly wider seats than a typical stadium. Even if there's a body in a seat, you're going to see the orange.

agree 100% and lets not forget our seats are bright orange. Its way easier to notice on TV. Looking at renderings of the new Stadium model, the seats are all going to be blue, this should help solve that issue.

Are you scared of Freeways in New York?

As an out of towner myself who comes to games about once a year this is how the experiance goes:
On game day you get in your rental car, drive on the freeway for about an hour or so behind a line of cars that are mostly dolphin fans (with a good number of opposing fans if its Jets or Pats week) to the parking lots. It's not like most of the people who fly in are staying right by the stadium. WTF are you scared of?

Not scary at all. Not one bit.
