Feeley should start...

Exactly... this was my whole point. It would be different if Frerotte was an aging Favre or any slew of other successful starters, but Gus is just another stop-gap at the position. Did New York gain anything by starting Kurt Warner?? Wouldn't the added experience for Manning have been more valuable?? Why not go back to Warner or go to the 3rd string when he stunk up the joint?? Because they know he is going to need time to develop and become succesful at the position. At this point he has nearly as many starts as Feeley does.

The QB position is different than just about any other position in the NFL and it needs to be treated differently when it comes to picking the starter. Any other position, it makes sense to pick the guy that gives you the best chance to win NOW... because it doesn't take long to grow into those positions, and it has been shown that players can develop at the position while on the bench. That is not the case for QB's... the successful ones are given time to develop, and it seems like development only comes from live action. It is near impossible to try to mix and match and plug in the new flavor of the week at QB and expect to be successful. They need to grow into the role... and become comfortable with the scheme, their team-mates, and the position itself. So, why start a seasoned player that has shown mediocrity, when you have a player with more physical skills likely to give you the same mediocrity, but with potential to become much much more?

If Gus looks absolutely amazing at the position... fine, start him. But, I don't think that will be the case. I think he will have a slight edge on Feeley, due mostly to his knowledge of the playbook, and in that scenario I say we let Feeley show what he's got.

OK. Less knowledge, outplayed, less experience, 3rd stringer, locks on to a wr,deer in head lights when pressured, and unproven as Tim Rattay and Couch. Yeah ok give hi the job!!!

Holcomb,Simms, the other back up from clev when it was th Couch , Holcomb and whoever(drawing a blank) all have tools. Many guys have the tools. Akili. Bring him in and let him learn. If theman does not know how to turn the compressor on, they do him no good.

Whoever plays the best during camp and preseason to start. But if there's no sure winner (like last year), you should give your younger talent plenty of playing time to help with development.

Actualy, i disagree with the Warner situation in NY because he was a former MVP. It was actually foolish to have pulled him when they did, because they had above a .500 record, and 3-4 more wins would have easily gotten them into the playoffs in an extrememly weak conference. Of course, Manning's experience will pay off this year, but they were about to qualify for the playoffs despite their best effort.

Bada BING!!!! They were playoff bound!! Bad move for the vets'.

wHERE IS A GOOD POST FROM YOU? Have you ever in your entire conveluded life watched Gus play football even once! Honestly, God is watching!! I am as die hard as it get's and I never watched a whole game Gus played except the head butt game until he was in Minny!

That is like saying Ronnie sucks! he could not beat out a guy that he out weighed by 35 lbs. And was faster, had better hands and blocked better. You probably are a combine love freak that never saw Ronnie play, but you are now in love w/ him b/c we got him. You think he is better than Caddy b/c he is a Fin. Get real. Gus sucks................. HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA hahahahahahahahhahahahhahahahhahahaahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

I like them beans!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will take a super bowl and a bad year a super bowl and a bad year over and over and over and over and over and over and over .............

It would be different if we had anything close to a playoff-boudn team. I guess I'm the only one who realizes we are probably not. It's nice to be optimistic, but it's better to be realistic, and fact is there is a very small chance we will get to the playoffs this year, with or without Gus. We just don't have the line or secondary to make it. If you have a solid group where a veteran QB can put you over the top, then you make your push. In Gruden's case, he is a good coach on Sundays, but his player decisions are horrible for longterm success. We are not even ready for short term success, much less long term.

thanks for posting bro i belive in feeley he can be the future of this franchise he has all the tools i like him he just needs time and he is tough which we all witnessed last year behind that pathedic o-line.the guy also throws a very nice spiral almost always rite where it needs to be can make every throw the only thing that he has to work on that can be corrected is looking off defenders and making quick reads not holding on to the ball so much. :)

I use to be a Feeley supporter. Now I think he should start... for the Toronto Argos.

I am not suggesting we will go to a SB. Just that Gruden is not a total failure w/ his plan.

I agree w/ you on the outlook of the team in the short hall. Not ruling out a chance if all goes well w/ the OL. But we have a talented group at wr, and at rb. Young dbs' and a good group of young talent for the future along the front 7.

I want to watch both and see! I hope the best man wins! Go Gus, Go AJ!!!!

Hey, let's hope it is a real tough decision for Saban!!! Why? I want it to be tough in the sense that both look awsome and who to go with is a tough dec. Then we know we will have a capable backup if Feeley or Gus go down. I will not cheer against any FIN!!!!!!!!! Except for Wanny's case, in which he was not really a Fin, just the dolphin trainer that could not train.
