LOL Dolphins are paying Finnegan and Mat Moore this year what the pats are paying for Revis... Let that sink in.![]()
Zero chance Revis would have come to us for that price. ... apples to oranges.

IF Finnegen were coming off a one year injury after a VG year, I would be feeling a whole lot better on this deal but, that is not the case, as he has been bad for 2 years.

2013 he was hurt
2012 he had over 100 tackles,1 sack,1 forced fumble and 3 interceptions...AWFUL???
Why does everyone keep saying he had two bad years? In 2012 (first year in St. Louis) the man had 100+ tackels, 9 PDs, 3 ints, 1 FF, 1 Def TD. If that's a poor season, give me poverty every year. He was injured most of 2013. The dude is consistent, I don't care what PFF and their subjective calculations say.
Finnegan is 6 years removed from his 1 pro bowl year. Grimes was 2 when he signed. Grimes was playing at a high level prior to his injury. Fine fan wasn't. Stop with the comparisonsSame in the sense they are former Pro Bowl players coming off a season in which they were hurt, and questions if they still can be impact players going forward. Though Finnegan got a two year deal, it is really just a one year prove it type contract like Grimes got.
Do I expect the same results as we got with Grimes? No. Not sure it is realisitc to expect Finnegan to become one of the top corners in the league and put together a Pro Bowl type season.

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie just spurned the Jets to sign with the Giants. I bet Rex would love if Finnegan was still on the market.

You are correct. Finnegan had a disappointing 2013 when he got injured and missed games, but all this talk about a bad 2012 is flat out wrong and he was in excellent form in 2011. We should know in Training Camp if Finnegan has something to offer or not. Put him on Wallace and let's see if his legs are too old.Why does everyone keep saying he had two bad years? Hickey is taking a pretty bold bet that Finnegan can be good. In comparison, Walter Thurmond was available for the slot for less money and a Super Bowl in his back pocket. A risk averse brand new GM would have just signed Thurmond. Hickey is backing his judgement that Finnegan still has something.
