Or I could determine that stats mean very little in the grand scheme of things. Dolphins are 10th in scoring but watching them last night you'd never know that.

People don't realize that we are going to give up rushing yards. But the scheme is working because points allowed are down and we are forcing many more turnovers.
These turnovers are leading to our improved offensive scoring.

We have 45 takeaways in the last 28 games under Coyle.
Prior to that we had 54 takeaways in 48 games in the previous three years.

Everybody used to bitch about the D not coming up with turnovers. Well we are doing it now. So let us bitch about the run defense. Some people just like to bitch.

The problem is with the offense, not the defense.

In the years that Kevin Coyle has been in Miami (2012, 2013, 2014), the defense has always been better than the offense.

Consistency. Every unit on this team lacks it. Defensive ranking is helped significantly by having a game like against the Chargers when they looked elite and then **** the bed the next week or the week after.

OK, the main topic was to point out that Coyles D is giving up the fourth fewest points through three seasons. And somehow in your eyes one bad half of football against the Jets somehow invalidates that stat and makes him a bad DC? Ok...
