First 3 picks in 2021 draft

I’d like the point out the RB from the University at Buffalo (my undergrad), Jaret Patterson, had 920 rushing yards and 16 rushing TDs in the 4 games they played this year. He averaged 8.6 YPC. I don’t know about one of our top 4 picks, but I have seen him rated as a day 2 option on multiple sites.

We're gonna have a lot of good options, and IMHO, WR and DB are high contenders for those two first round picks. It's gonna be hard to pass on Jamar Chase if he's there, regardless of the stellar performances the Alabama WR's put up. But if we draft a WR with our latter 1st rounder or a 2nd rounder, keep an eye on Justyn Ross, because that kid is underrated ....... at least at this point. My underrated prospects have an annoying tendency to explode up the draft charts by the time the draft actually rolls around, LOL.

I'm a Najee Harris fan, but I'd probably not pull the trigger in round 1 or 2. If Etienne is still available in round 2 I'd take him, and I might even consider him late round 1 if he's there, just to get the 5th year salary option. RB's just don't have the impact on the team that they used to have. In this era of pass-first offenses and extremely high scoring, the combo of far more pass plays, RB by committee, shotgun dominant formations, and running QB's have greatly undercut the value of the RB position from a resource standpoint.
I believe Ross has an injury or health concern that could move him down.

Marshall of LSU is another wide receiver who I think is underrated.

We gonna have to get thru kc for the next 5 years at least and really that’s what we should be driving towards. And in order to do that we gonna have to score a ton of points. So skill talent will be at a premium. That’s about the only thing I can weigh relative to a micah parsons impact.

I don’t know if we ever will have that damn kc level scheme however. I’m hoping tua can be that offset in time.
That's a great point Hoops.

You want a matchup nightmare Florida's Pitts is very intriguing. If Chase, Smith and Waddle are gone before that Houston pick I would be thrilled with Pitts. I know Miami's tight ends aren't bad, but Pitts looks unguardable at least at the college level.

Pitts is a fine specimen that put a ton of work in with Trask to be where he is.

Helluva catch radius and seems to find open areas quite nicely.

It would not surprise me if he is the first TE drafted.

He reminds me of Shannon Sharpe, who just looked like a big, fluid receiver. I don't think Pitts is quite as fast.

they compared Smith to Lynn Swann today.

I've read that the only knock is that he is skinny.
I don't think Justin Jefferson is exactly hitting the weights

we need to find a slot receiver who gets separation constantly
Jefferson has like 30+ lbs on Smith

Hey, how would you feel about Tylan Wallace WR Oklahoma St in the 3rd maybe?
I saw him only one game, but have a couple others recorded. Had like 11 catches vs Texas and was pretty impressive.

Yeah, I've seen a couple Cowboys games. He probably goes in the second though.

I thought that's where his talent would place him, but I went mock scanning after the game and didn't see him in a single 2 round mock.
Not that that necessarily means anything.

I won’t be a happy camper if this team burns a top 12 pick on a guard knowing what we have in house

I do think right guard could be a need but not with any top 12 pick asset. I don’t think the boards gonna reflect that to be where the value is at all
We have 2 different on what he have in house.

I love kindley but flowers has to go

Davis only suffers from position value. He’s no Quenton Nelson but he will be the 2nd best guard in the league

I agree with you on Justyn Ross, people are sleeping on this kid. He got injured and has been slowly recovering, but has started to look healthier as the season progressed. He had one hell of a Championship game against Bama. I think he slips a bit in the draft due to the injury, but makes up for it with his play as a pro.
Completely agree brother. I hope Grier is reading your posts!

Yep, Ross' injury is definitely reducing his draft status. But the raw material on that kid is just fantastic, and with our very young team and deep WR corps, we can afford to wait on him, IMHO. I'd be ecstatic if we snagged him in the 2nd round; hell even with our second pick in the 1st round.

It's still ridiculously early, so these mocks aren't even remotely accurate yet, no worries. Just sit and watch the drama unfold, LOL. :munch:
