Just got his jersey in the mail today. So hyped for him. Plus the new jersey’s are fire.
The most impressive thing about Minkah to me was how hard of a worker he was, and how high his football IQ is. Our defense at Alabama is multiple, with all sorts of variations. We change from 3-4 to 4-3, to 3-3-5, to 2-3-6, to 4-2-5. All the gap assignments change with every front. Not only did Minkah have them all memorized, he had them all memorized from multiple positions in the secondary. Just extraordinary.
Slimm - Granted, you're an Alabama guy, but how good do you think Minkah can be? How long do you think it will take him to become a real Defensive weapon? The most impressive thing about Minkah to me was how hard of a worker he was, and how high his football IQ is. This isnt actually the main point of the article, but I thought this was an interesting insight into our first round pick

Somehow Fitzpatrick is even better than I thought/ and I was super high on the kid. He is the type of player that makes you look for his number on defense when you are watching a game. JT was a special talent here. Sam Madison I thought was special. To me Zach was more effort than anything. This kid is special.First of all, don't ever think that my love for Alabama in any way biases my evaluation of talent across the country. I assure you that's has never been the case. Anybody that's paid any attention over the years can attest to that. I've always made it a point to let it be known the Alabama players I would shy away from in my draft threads (Cyrus Kouandjio, etc.)
Sixpatrick will be a real defensive weapon as a rookie. Once he learns the defense, he'll be the guy that helps everybody else on defense be the best THEY can be. He'll always have them in the right positions to be successful. Whether they succeed or not is up to them. His impact won't always be felt in the box score (INT's, PBU's, etc.) - a lot of times his impact will be felt when coaches go back and watch the film. Miami's defensive rankings as a unit will climb.
