Free Agency Day 1

Can you share a link to the contract details for samuel? I can't find them.
Best I can do for now... I doubt if the real numbers will be in until tomorrow...

CURTIS SAMUEL
WR, WASHINGTON FOOTBALL TEAM

Washington signed Curtis Samuel, formerly of the Panthers, to a three-year, $34.5 million contract.
Samuel gets $24.5 million guaranteed. This signing felt inevitable from the start, and it brings a lot of life to Washington's offense. Not only does Samuel offer plenty of yards after the catch skills from the slot, perimeter, and backfield, but he'll also alleviate pressure off of Terry McLaurin, his ex-teammate at Ohio State. The skill group immediately becomes one of the fastest, and OC Scott Turner has been a creative mind in his few seasons as a play-caller. With Ryan Fitzpatrick's aggressiveness and the NFC East schedule, both McLaurin and Samuel project to be strong weekly options in fantasy. Samuel offers WR3 upside during his age-25 season. Washington should be viewed as the co-favorites in the division.

I agree. But at some point Miami decided the cost was too great. I'd have loved him in a fins uniform, but unfortunately he decided on WFT.
So far, I believe we can cross off rotational DT and maybe slot corner off the draft list.

That leaves center, pass rusher, two wide receivers and probably running back.

Of course, Miami could still add some talent in free agency.

Oh, I thought you said he was getting 24.5 in the 1st 2. Seems like more like 16 and the rest just depends on how its structured.

As we've discussed before, I'm a believer in filling holes through free agency, rather than head-hunting stars. So, I've been REAL happy with what we've done here.

Thank you for clarifying.

I know it’s hard. But I’m going trust that Flo and Co. have a much better pulse on what this team needs, how much it should cost, and alternative plans on how to accomplish that.

So far they’ve shown they have a clue what they’re doing and until they start showing the dont I’ll give them the benefit.
With Grier I give him 100% benefit of the doubt. He’s missed on some draft picks but this man knows how to get every penny possible out of a trade negotiation it’s impressive.

Have to root for the WFT team next year with Fitzmagic getting to lead them in the playoffs. They have the best defense and coach in that division and good weapons in McLaurin, Samuel, Thomas, and McKissac out of the backfield.

No FA is giving Miami a 'good deal'.
Andrews will want Linsley money from Miami but will take less to play for a contender.
Dolphins are not considered 'contenders' until Tua shows he can play. The negative hype re: Tua IS real and it Does negatively affect Miami in its recruiting efforts.

Keep this in mind. The Miami Dolphins are still perceived as a bottom-third organization around the league.

Generally... though this one could be different. NFL teams give a big bonus up front, and then guarantee the second year entirely... so I suspect... suspect that's where this 24.5 million dollar number comes from.

I’m #TeamEskridge myself, but the Rondale/Samuel comp has been out there, and I thought this was a good time to show why it’s ok to build through the draft and not win the March Bowl
Eskridge put forth some good 'sports porn'. His highlight video was Very Impressive. He's a special athlete.

Some nice, under the radar, adds. Might be close to done. Maybe one big add.

If it comes down to Juju or Andrews, it's Andrews for me, but Miami has a chance to fill the remaining needs in the draft.

No question, the Dolphins have to come up big in the draft. I think that was the case regardless of free agency.

We could do both with a restructure or two... release Grant... Let's see how much they want.

He still has a suspension looming over him doesn't he? A game or two... something like that?
I think so, but I'm fine with that. He's immensely talented. With the injury history and the looming suspension, he might just be willing to play for a little less than market value. He could become a high upside signing.
