At this point, an unsupervised Petrino is way down on the list of things I'm nervous about.
That certainly is one way to look at it.
In relation to college football: Bobby's contract is written as such that for years that Tom Jurich is NOT the AD here, Bobby's $10 mil buyout starts dropping.

From what I've read everybody around Louisville is expecting the death penalty.
It certainly is possible. Hell, even the student newspaper called for it.
If the interim AD or interim president (whomever is picking the interim coach) can get a good one (Tom Crean is out there) this team can still make a Final 4 this season. Even without Bowen they're still a top 15 roster. That's the bad thing in all this: we didn't even need Bowen. We already had 2 good NBA prospect wings playing his spot in King and Adel.
We're potentially getting the death penalty for doing two stupid things in getting some sleazy escorts (that didn't even help recruiting and in one case actually DROVE a recruit away) and getting a player that the roster didn't even really need. Things are great right now: my university is being dragged through the mud, the Fins are soft, Trump is trying to raise my taxes, and the main water pipe into my basement is leaking. Things are just peachy.
Hang in there brother, at least the Louisville football team didn't plummet from number 3 to unranked in two games.
It's spread to Nike already. As soon as this story broke, every UK fan hit Facebook to gloat and make fun. I advised them they probably should hold their tongues. If they think Nike isn't paying all those kids to pick UK then they're either naive or an idiot. With UK fans it's usually that they're idiots. U of L fans have been telling UK fans for years that World Wide Wes (a big time "basketball guy" is the best way to describe him as he doesn't have an official title in the industry) has been funneling recruits to UK in conjunction with Nike. They just scoffed at us.
The big question now is will this spread to football or not. All those summer 7 on 7 camps/tournaments that are sponsored by the shoe companies are probably getting looked at.

Damn Buddy....I have always admired Jimbo...even to the point that when Nick retires..It wouldn't hurt my feelings to make a call to Jimbo...but his playcalling the last
two games has baffled me....when your OL is having a rough time protecting your QB...run the ball more to help him out,especially when he's a freshman!!
Plus that defense you had out there last week,didn't look anything like the one that was busting Bama in the mouth a few weeks ago.

I've never been a Jimbo homer but he's a good coach, especially offensively and recruiting. However, these past two games he's just been off and has been outcoached. I loathe Charles Kelly so it's no surprise that our D is pedestrian and falls apart in critical situations. I want to fire him so bad! Hopefully, Jimbo can get their heads straight this week because our schedule is brutal! Clemson, Louisville, Miami, and Florida still on the horizon with no bye week.
Namor you’re right that if no death penalty is applied you won’t see it again. Economic effect both locally and to the NCAA will be a strong factor.
Pretty sure this will cross into football and certainly you’ll see major changes at this level. I think paying players is coming to try and get control of the money flow. BBall may eliminate 1 and done and model entrance requirements after football.
Admittedly I’m a little giddy not only because college sports needs to get cleaned up and is in obvious need of a new direction but the drama about to unfold will be quite interesting. Cupboards packed with popcorn
