Kind of like Kurt Warner
or
Marc Bulger
Kurt Warner was never really riding the pine. His first year he got to start due to an injury.
Marc Bulger was drafted by the Rams, was a backup for one year and then started palying the next year. Neither fit the bill of soemone who rode the pine for years unable to crack the startign lineup.

Just found where you uncle read it. It is dated July 20th and was around the time John Clayton said Jacksonville could be interested in Gordon. While the original poster says Gordon for Gerrard, he supplies no sources. Also, I haven't heard one thing about this since it was posted over there 12 days ago.

Now Nublar, on the other hand...Nublar is the man!

He's a backup because leftwhich was a 7th overall pick. They wanted to keep him becasue when or if Fat Alber LEftwhich turns into abust they ahve someone to replace. Garrard is a great QB or atleast better then waht we ahve so I'd do this trade and jsut to say I ahve Crohns and I can still be active and it's not taht big a deal once it's been diagnosed and doctors can give treatments

or matt hasselback, or steve young, or tom brady, or jake delhome, or rich gannon...
Last I checked, Hassleback, Gannon or Delhome have not won a thing. Brady never rode the bench for more than part of a year before taking the starting job
Steve Young was a starter for most of his two years with the Bucs. He then got traded to SF and was a backup for...uhmm, oh yes Joe Montana. I think that makes his situation a little unique.

I think that players who are bench warmers year after year are probably not NFL stars.

Just because a player has not won anything (ssuming you mean a super bowl seing as they have all had successful career's thus far) doesn't mean he's crap (see: DAN MARINO). The reason Garrard has not had a chance to start is because A) you would have been murdured if you tried to bench Mark Brunell at that time, and B) Leftwich was taken with the 7th pick. Right after Leftwich wastaken alot of people were saying that was a bad pick by the jags. Ya know why? Because of Garrard. Garrard is a strong-armed, very mobile quarterback. Plus, if you watched him in college or when he played in the year before they drafted Leftwich, you would see he can actually read a defense (something the supposedly promising quarterback on our roster has not shown an inkling of). Unfortunatly, the jags are not stupid enough (see: they don't have a guy named Rick Spiellman running anything), to trade Garrard for a player of Gordon's caliber straight up.

That was an ignorant comment. He has Crohn's disease, it is not something that will be a career ender at this point! It is an intestinal disease where the small intestine and colon lining can become infected and destroy itself. It's severity varies in people.
i saw enough sh*t on the field last season. we dont need a player unraveling and spilling apart just after a snap.

Nice shot!

just fyi Crones desease is treated with steriods i wonder if they give him an okay to not be tested for roids cause he would pop. He is a really good talent. I suppose people knockin him have prob never seen him play he is a good qb and could start for a lot of teams and we are one of them.

Wait, stop, we swung and missed once, maybe twice so, it's obvious that it will never work......not even if they're backing up a number one draft pick......geez.... :shakeno:

;)

Until we get Brown in camp, we need Gordon....

Gerrard is a decent QB prospect, but that's about it right now. If we made this trade, it's not like he'd be our starting QB. He'd probably replace Sage....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

my uncle just mentioned that there might be a possible trade between us and the jags  which we unload gordon for david gerrard (qb, and a darn good one)

Id def. want to make that deal. That guy is a very god QB who would atleast bring youth and some true competition to the team. We are deep at RB.

Mayb that's why Saban has Gordon #1 on the depth charts. Making other GM's think he is a starting back in the league...which i believe he could be.
