Gus is starting, THAT'S FINAL. (Evidence)

Yeah, unless Gus just falls apart or AJ gets possessed by the ghost of Dan Marino, that's how it struck me as well.

thats some funny stuff:lol:

It's Gus' job to lose right now. But if you know his history, that has happened many times before.

I know for a fact that the week before the Bears game Saban said Frerotte was "a little ahead" based on his knowledge from his offense.

Now I do believe Gus is pulling away, I believe that. But the way people have been bashing Feeley the past few days, I would love to see him get another shot and light it up.
I don't feel that Gus was pulling away, it's more like Feeley has regressed/and or given up/given the job away.

I believe Saban is 95% sure Gus is the starting quarterback because he has seen what both QBs can do. However, if Feeley comes out and does great, and frerotte struggles then maybe he will reconsider. To say Gus has the starting job 100% is false imo, but it looks like he will win it. The only way Gus doesnt win is if feeley does great and frerotte lyes a huge egg which is HIGHLY unlikely considering gus is the better QB.

Feeley is about as mobile as my left gonad! At least Gus has shown some mobility in the pocket and 10 times the awareness of Feeley when guys like Urlacher are storming the backfield...I think Saban and Linehan have come to the conclusion that Gus gives them the best chance to win and that Feeley will never be more than the same ol' deer in the headlights he's always been when the pocket breaks down...You must be able to create and not make stupid mistakes when things break down on the line...and Feeley is the poster child for making mistakes and/or getting his buttocks blasted under those circumstances.

So lets gets this right so you can be ridculed for eternity your saying that if Gus had been in the Chicago game that Urlacher wouldn't have hit him or he would have been fast enough to get out of the way?

I was really hoping that A.J. would be able to win over the starting job, but I am feeling very confident in Gus. If we are able to keep Ricky all year as well I think That him and Ronnie will bring so much pressure of of Gus that he might actually look like a really good QB.

Yes I think he would have at least had the presence of mind to drop to the ground before being be-headed!...er...Be-Buttocked I should say....Look at the play in the Jags game where Chambers made the great grab...Gus displayed mobility on that play in the face of the blitz that Feeley doesn't have...It just seems that gus is picking that stuff way better and sooner than Feeley...and that lack of awareness gets A.J. Hammered too much.

Yeah that was what I pretty much got out of his statements about the QB competetion. IMO it also seems like AJ will be the backup with Sage and Berlin battling for the 3rd spot.

Actually I think it's going to be Sage and Feeley battling for the #2 spot.

I'm not as much pro-Feeley as I'm pro-Miami's future.

Having Frerotte at QB doesn't bode well for our future. I'm rooting for Feeley to shape up, so we can contend for the next 5 years +.

If Frerotte is our starter, we're going to have to bring in a guy quickly to groom in the short amount of time before Gus throws out his hip while dropping back.

Are you a Feeley hugger? Just asking because it sounds like it.

Don't get mad. I'm really just asking.

I'm not a Feeley hugger. I'm hoping for a guy with slight upside and a stronger arm can beat out a journeyman. BUT, if Gus performs better by season start I have zero problems with him starting.

It's just you shouldn't claim its "FINAL."

The shame is that AJ really has the better arm outta both of them... But Gus shows composure in the pocket (as opposed from AJ last season, and in the preseason)...I feel more comfortable from what i have seen to have Gus as the starting QB.

OK, that's fair. I was just that convinced by what Saban said.

It's all good.
