Hayden Fox's 2014 Offseason Plan

Maybe a veteran back up that has experience with Lazor's system would be more effective. I am wondering if it is time to land a young QB to develop behind RT at this time, however.

So you want Mike Vick? lol Seriously, Moore has the vet experience to be a big help to RT in any system and his knowledge of our receivers should also help Lazor. JMO

I agree with you on Moore in principle, but Miami's cap situation is great even with Moore's money. The good thing with Moore and Patterson is that it's almost like free money if you need it. If Miami is looking tight then those two could be cut and re-signed cheaper or move on.

Its not free money if u can use it elsewhere for better players and positions that need help.

an expensive backup is the luxury that teams have when there starter is on a rookie deal. With Moore and RT combined are probably below average salary in the league for a starter. You can guarantee that Moore wont be there when RT is making 10+ million. Until then why not have a competent backup that can still help develop some of RT 's skills

Thanks for putting " Hayden Fox's...." in the title. If you hadn't I wouldn't have known who posted it

No sense for our back up QB to be making more than our starting QB.

Moore's contract needs to seriously be re-structured or he needs to be traded. He is making way too much for riding the pine.

We were talking about the Moore deal the other day. There was an insurance salesman who chimed in on our discussion by saying that a VG backup QB is like insurance and toilet tissue. It's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it. LOL

No, but is there a vet that would be taught in some things Lazor wants to do? i think it might be time for a young backup though.

we can better use that 5.5 million elsewhere. Hell no team will pay him that much to start but we pay him that much to backup.

Good stuff. I also think it's necessary to find a LT in free agency. That would open up the draft to BPA for the most part. I think the team can then build the rest of the oline in the 2nd-4th round range of the draft and look for a difference maker with the #1.

I also agree with going young at qb and cutting both Patterson and Moore, which gives Miami another $9 million to sign players.

Shields and Collins would be my free agent targets. I'd love to see Shields opposite Grimes.

I' m not gonna lie Hayden. I don't like you. Never have, never will. You look and smell like dog crap. If I could find you I would and then beat you to the ground.....jk...haha. Solid write up. Disagree with cutting wheeler though.

I am not sure any of the quality LT's are there at 19. It has to be done in FA.

I would cut Moore as soon as possible. He proved this year he can't even come off the bench and look decent. Heck, Devlin could do better than 2 INT's on 6 attempts

Whis is my point, it's there if you need it, if you don't need it why bother? If healthy Patterson fits Coyles system and plays it well and $5m for a starting CB is a deal.

Moore is going to cost you $1m no matter what so what is the hurry to cut him? Wait until camp and see what you have, then if you want to move on do so and you have a vet arm in camp.

Patterson is too injured to count on.

Buthe isn't going to cost you anything until thestart of the season, so unless you need the money to sign a free agents or draft picks doesn't ake sense to cut him until that time.
