Here’s Why This Ex-patriots Scout Believes Brian Flores Will Be ‘a Great Coach’ Read More Here: Htt

He’s got 3 years to prove he can do it. Talk is cheap! We heard a lot of talk about Gasy and look how that turned out.

As I've posted many times, I'm optimistic about Flores, and it's hard to remove him from NE's success on D.

.
Anyone who isn’t optimistic with Flores over Gase is just a perpetual Debbie Downer.

With no optimism in this much needed change, one would need to check oneself and reevaluate if they are in fact rooting for the Fins to succeed.

I understand that this team has kicked you in the nuts a lot, but you got a new girlfriend now my friend. Smile and take her to dinner

You absolutely need to give that new girl a fair shot, but it's perfectly reasonable to be skeptical when her BFF tells you what a great girl she is.

A fair shot. LOL

There could pages and pages in a thread debating what constitutes a "fair shot" by the member base here. We've seen it recently regarding a certain player who's plagued this team for the last 7 years. But I digress.

I'm not willing to give ANYONE more than 2-3 years. And this is assuming we actually see some sort of clear progress along that time. Because if that wolf doesnt bite and bite early, he should be dealt with.

No. More. Waiting.

This fan base deserves better.

The sheeple will read these kind of fluff articles and feel comfortable with the choice their team made. It happens every year across the NFL. How often does a team hire a first year head coach and you read overly critical things about them? Maybe one or two that I can remember?

But hey Dolfans, eat it up. I don't care. I will call a spade, a spade.

Produce or gtfo should be the motto and mind set of every Dolfan in response to this hire.

Someone actually said they are "optimistic for Flores"....LMAO

The notion that we are going to tank or not win for a couple of years is erroneous.

The STUPID KNUCKLEHEADED approaches to acting like we were one or two players away from being good was disastrous. I am relieved to be done with mr average TH. He’s a good guy but he was killing me with his lack of pocket presence. He aged me with that!!!!

In The NFL today there is so much Parody that teams can materialize quickly with the right internal momentum and chemistry.

I am not saying we will do that - but by rebuilding the door opens to magic happening.

Shula teams did this all the time - before Marino - he’s have teams with seemingly less talent or loss of key players and the team would get out there and roll.

So I buck at the notion we will somehow do worse then we have been doing.

He's got 2 gift horses potentially eating out of his hand in the up coming draft.
We will see if he gives them the carrot or is afraid of getting bit....

Our standard now for us fans should be

Not talk the talk... but walk the walk......
We seen the talk aspect as totally ineffectual bordering on just out right stupid...
Only his actions will tell us what we need to know.....

I dont mean to be that guy, but.....

Our O was gonna explode, Tannehill would show us his ceiling was higher than we thought possible.

With Gase. The guru. The QB whisperer....

I have a better feeling about Flores. I do hope for him to succeed. But if he does not, I won’t be surprised.

I dunno. This team has disappointed too many times.

I prefer to remember the old days. No matter what we do now, they can’t take that away.

Three years is fair enough to determine if the team is headed in the right direction. I would not say he needs to be in the playoffs, just remain competitive and show promise. This is assuming we get a top QB year 2. By year four, we should be aiming to win the division if everything else pans out.

Having trouble figuring out how the defense was "so much better" yet allowed more points....

I've given too many coaches too much time. My patience is running out. I'll give the guy two years, and by the end of those two years I need to see something, either that we tanked well and have a great young QB, that we've built a tremendous roster and are poised to be a team that consistently makes the playoffs, challenges for division titles when Belichick leaves, and has a legitimate shot at becoming a Super Bowl winning team, or at the bare minimum a playoff team that is trending strongly upward. I will forgive tanking in 2019 if we get a QB in 2020. I will not forgive going winless though, nor should I. Gase had 10 wins and the playoffs in his first season. Honestly, if that season had been year 3 instead of year 1 he would still be our coach. So, I need at least that from our next coach.

I'm just too sick of being mediocre. Wannstedt wasted our Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas years with building a solid team that had no shot at ever winning a Super Bowl. So many other coaches wasted talent building mediocrity. I'm just sick of it. Build something great or go home. My patience is worn pretty thin by the avalanche of ineptitude we've been buried under for so long.

He's got my support and I hope he does well. Like others, I have little patience. We've been to playoffs three times in the last 18 years and got bounced out hard in the first round of the last two. We need to see some substantial improvement by year two and by year three, we should be in the playoffs with a good core of young talent.
