installment number 2 comes your way with an off the radar talent that first caught my eyes a couple years ago...Washington wr Kasen Williams is listed at 6 ft 3 and 217 lbs...so this is a big wr...what's his value and what does the tape say and is this a fit for Miami...

first off we have to understand that Williams collegiate production doesn't wow you...he broke his leg and foot his Junior year in a game against Cal resulting in a lisfranc injury and surgery and missed the rest of the season...his senior season he called for the Huskies to throw the ball more cause he wasn't getting enough looks...so if you want high end production at the collegiate level this isn't the guy...

but i dont go by collegiate production...i go by the tape...and the tapes really damn impressive prior to that injury and i expect with a now post 1 year plus since him to get that game back...underutilized in college is not my problem...

Miami needs run after the catch and physical play in it's wr core...well fellas there's not a more physical wr on tape than kasen williams in the blocking department...he latches on and drives his man and doesnt let go til the whistle blows...you want to run all those wr screens and bubble screens put this kid out there and let him help pave the way...real strength in his hands and upper body and drive in his legs...murderous blocking wr

explosive quick burst off the los probably will turn in a late 4.4's low 4.5's 40 on the stop watch...this is packers like wr skill set...wins quickly inside across a dbs face uses his body well in his routes and works the sideline boundary like a magician...awareness is very impressive...works back to the ball doesnt sit and wait for it but comes back to the qb and is a load to tackle once the balls in his hands...route running is impressive sets up dbs well shows soft but strong physical hands is a natural hands catcher...shows the ability to separate quickly and explodes out of his quick cuts...fluid hips changes direction very well

i think you can work back shoulder and fade routes in the red with this wr i think he plays smart enough to identify coverages and sit down when he should and he has the ablity to make a man miss and get vertical...i have no doubts he will go get the ball in the air and meet the ball in the air...body control is high end as well...think jordy nelson like strength in the red zone physical play to get off coverage and similar body usage and positioning skill

even has some specials returns abilities...

has been invited to the east west shrine game i have no doubts if the junior tape and sophomore tape i looked at shows up he will steal the freaking show and probably get an invite to the senior bowl after the proceedings...if he's pre injury player he's gonna wreck people

bottom line is barring this injury on tape he's a top wr in the class imo and a top 20 grade and i would flat target him at #14...yeah it's high praise indeed but tape don't lie...this kids legit...i bet he would have come out last year and been a 1st rounder easy...

i'm betting on the kid getting his game back...pick #46 if he gets there i run the card up...i expect this to be a fast riser during the process folks...jump on the train

sounds like a player we could really use but i think we need a corner the most and if we get a starting corner in FA then I wouldn't mind taking this kid in round 1 or 3

Now that you mention it... I was watching UW & Utah back in 2012. Both, he and Sankey (RB now w/ the Titans) really impressed me. The Huskies IMO are like Iowa they rarely put out big name superstars just quality, high end, players yr after yr.

The other big WR in the Pac 12 that I like is Ty Montgomery from Stanford. The Utes would have crushed Stanford in 2013 if not for Montgomery (returning kicks, receiving even rushing the the ball).

 no ones willing to take the leap huh??? fair enough...hoops aint scared

I don't understand why scouts aren't high on Montgomery. Maybe someone can educate me on that. I really like the player and the ability he brings in the return game.

I was going to mention him but you got it. Draft is deep with some biggies and Montgomery has more speed than the rest? combine will tell. He runs like a track guy with his chest forward.

Nice writeup. Could be a 2nd round steal, but do have to factor in the injury. I could definitely see Miami taking a corner or safety (Collins) in R1 and then coming back for a wr in round 2. Don't think there's a corner worth pick #14, but maybe with a trade down scenario.

Seems like a pretty physical player who fights for yards as well.

well consider julio jones had a similar injury and he came back just fine...although i agree i need to see what this kid looks like at the shrine game...i'm tellin ya though his junior tape is more polished than any of these raw top wrs i've been looking at...and i think if the medical outlook is good he's plug and play day 1

that is an nfl game on tape his junior year...i see everything i need to see there

Didn't DeMaryous Thomas break his foot in the Orange Bowl then re-injure it before the combine?

Dont know anything about this guy, how has he looked after lisfranc surgery? That used to be a career ending injury 20 years ago. His size is perfect.

Yea but that wasnt lisfranc injury. They are different injuries.

he's more likely gonna be 6 ft 2 and 210 plus but i'm gonna tell you right now he plays to his measurables...he is a rb like tackle in space and as physical as they come in this class...there's a lot of wrs in this class that either plays smaller than they are or play very finesse

he also has slot/boundary versatility although i think ideally he's a boundary guy the way he works the sideline...reminds me in a lot of ways of jordy nelson but a more willing blocker

shows the physical strength to defeat press quickly and hand usage is there as well

I can honestly say I watch very little PAC 12 football...his size is very nice and his highlights were solid....should try to watch an entire game.

...and I was worried about what I was going to do at work today. Thanks for the write up.

Can't do it...not with 14, not even with 47. We already took a couple of guys who were injured in Jamar Taylor and Dion Jordan...can't take that risk. Right now this guys average ranking is 223 which puts him in the 7th round. Depending on what he does at the combine he may shoot up but probably not to the 2nd round.
