How does our head coach not know about basically our whole oline having turmoil?

If Philbin had a leadership council maybe this would have been brought to his attention lol.

The problem with that is Incognito was on the "new leadership council."
This year, the Dolphins have named quarterback Ryan Tannehill, center Mike Pouncey, guard Richie Incognito, defensive end Cameron Wake, defensive tackle Paul Soliai, and linebacker Dannell Ellerbe on the council. Five of the six players are veterans with the team, while Ellerbe is a newcomer, joining the team in free agency this year after winning the Super Bowl last season with the Baltimore Ravens. Incognito and Soliai are both entering the final year of their contracts, but these six seem to have a more solid feeling than the previous council.

oh please. Show me that employee in a supervisor role who goes to his/her superior and says: I got some **** going on in my group. And BTW I am participating in it too.
If Turner would be squeaky clean you may have a point.

But one of the reasons you have staggered employments (owner, manager, supervisors etc) is that they take care of their business in a group. If **** happens the immediate supervisor takes care of it. If it doesn't change and the supervisors has hiring and firing power he can do that. If not he reports to the next level.

The NFL functions the same way: HC, Coordinators, coaches, trainers and assistants. Turner should have stopped it. Since he has no power to hire and fire he should have reported it to Sherman and from there it goes to the HC. But Turner couldn't even do the reporting since he was involved.

I find it amusing how the Aponte/Philbin haters scolded her for telling Philbin and now it would be the right thing to tell Philbin.

He doesn't. He is speculating and hoping trying to justify his dislike for Philbin. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Isn't this all speculation and opinion why is yours better than mine, what makes you so informed, are you there?

As far as my dislike for Philbin...I think he's a horrible coach. I also think he doesn't like leaders on his team and shows this by not having team captains. I also believe Turner holds the most responsibility. However, as Turner's boss Philbin holds culpability as well. If this was just one or may two people and it was a short period of time maybe I could understand, but this went on for more than a year...try and grasp that. Things of this magnitude went on since Philbin’s has been with this team (and probably before) and yet he knew nothing. It wasn't just one or two people, it was his entire offensive line depending on how many they had on the roster that's what 15-20% of your team, and you have no clue what’s going on with them. The report even states it was happening during pre-game warm ups.

Believe what you want, that's fine and your right, but I don't buy it and because I don't doesn't give you the right to tell me I am full of it as I have respected your opinion even if I don't agree.

This exactly..

I'm not sure how one could blame Philbin. He's not going to micro manage these guys personalities and he sure as hell can't do anything if no one brings it to his attention. Turner should have gone to Philbin, the majority of the fault lies with him. And he will be fired because of it.

The question is why didn't Martin go to the head coach if this was such an issue? Philbin should not get a pass especially since things turned out the way they did. If players on his team are having issues with other players and coaches and they don't believe they can go to the hc it's a problem.

Either he's clueless or turned the other way. Raises a lot of questions about his skills as a head coach

Turner point-blank told Philbin that accounts of bullying were unfounded and that Martin was not called "vulgar names."

And here we have the disingenuous statement that enables the cover-up. I predicted when the report came out it would whitewash the league and the front-office. Remember who signed Ted Well's paycheck. He was hired precisely to ensure that nothing could be laid at the feet of the NFL. Kinda like the current Democratic cover-up of corruption in the IRS or the Republican cover-up of Watergate.

What? Im sorry but in my opinion this makes philbin look bad. That dumb blank look on the sidelines must carry over to the locker room and practice.

It was never brought to his attention, and he can't police parties/get togethers outside the team facility and text messages. The guys who felt harassed never said a word to him and the couple who did know(Turner, trainer) said nothing. It is hard to know what is going on outside the place of work when everyone involved keeps it to themselves.

The only thing Philbin was aware of was that Martin was dealing with depression, and he took steps along with Martin's father to get him help.

The funny thing is, I see threads like this and people on Twitter calling for Philbin to be fired because of this. Yet, the report clears Philbin of any wrong doing and Wells went out of his way to praise him and says things would have been handled if it was brought to his attention. Hard to place any blame on Joe in regards to this situation.
The HC doesn't know what's going on in his own locker room for 2 years and you don't see a problem with that? He doesn't know that his players are harassing a staffer and you don't see a problem with that? One of his assistant coaches goes in on some of the harassing and he doesn't know anything about it and you don't see a problem with that?

Philbin is either a liar or completely clueless

That's what happens when you let Reggie Bush, Jake Long, and Karlos Dansby go. Notice they all had better years with their new Teams. Not surprised...

According to Martin, the harassment started when the three of them were still on the team in 2012.

Idc about any of it honestly..... All I know is now is the absolutely PERFECT time to take a well respected, well behaved, fully mature offensive lineman in the 1st round of the draft in Zack Martin, so we can move on fast. Nothing will make people forget like winning games/
