You think Ross has a backup plan? If the D keeps playing like this we're not going to be giving Nolan any promotions. Ross isn't going to make a midseason change because he has no idea what he's doing. Unless Fergie gets the job.

Instead of running the clock down and playing the back ups Brady is out there trying to break the record for passing yards in a game and you don't consider that a blow out?
 
The problem is that if we go 9-7 we don't make the playoffs, and we get Sparano (and Ireland) next year again.
 
The way I read Ross, he mounts a serious coaching search for a "big name" and he waits until after the season to do it.
 
Sparano is coaching the entire season and should. The real issue is Ireland not Sparano. If the Phins continue with empty seats and no playoffs Sparano is gone but Ireland is the one that has to go. His idiotic personnel decisions and attitude towards players hurts this franchise. He is a mini Parcells that should be flushed down the toilet with the other fecal matter.

Although I believe Sparano is a good coach, if we start off 0-4, he will get fired during the bye week. If not, then as soon as we are eliminated from the playoff, MIke Nolan will be our interm imo.
 
I think Spar-ilend should just finish out the year together..
if they cant get us close to the playoffs..
Then get us cower or chucky.
I think the players need a coach who can make them work harder and smarter.
I also think ireland misses more than he hits and that is a big problem.

Also losing at home has to be tough on Ross with his ego

though who likes going home after a loss 9 times out of 10?
You got to at least break even at home if you expect fans to fork over hard earned money..

If we go 0-4 Sparano gets fired at the bye week, Mike Nolan is made the interim coach and we start the process all over again.

Hope you're ready for it, Dolfans. You'll probably want to fire the new guy after 1 week as well...
 
If we start 0-5 he'll be gone shortly after mid season. Nolan will probably
be elevated to HC, and be the leading candidate for it next year.
 
Nah, it'd take us being 1-7 or something close. Like what happened with Wannstedt.

I see them putting Nolan in charge temporarily at that point.
 
So much pessimism on this site. We did just play one of the top 3 teams in the league! In all fairness to the dolphins home record last year other than Detroit and Cleveland that schedule was difficult . I'm just saying let the season unfold before looking for some heads !
 
It would be retarded to fire Sparano midseason if we are like 0-7. If you are 0-7 at the very least, you are tied for first in the suck for Luck campaign. Why would you wanna trash that by firing the man that is helping insure you get a franchise QB next year? Dumb, dumb, DUMB!
 
0 - 5 and he loses the team and the death spiral begins.... at that point I would be ok with 0 - 16 to get luck
