13.5 sacks!
nyjunc said:Kevin Carter's better days were a LONG time ago, he hasn't seen 10 sacks since '02 and in his last 4 years he has 23.5 sacks and has played every game of every season. That's less than 6 sacks a season.

i like that part "and has played every game of every season", 6 sacks a year is sure better than 3 sacks in 4 years by your 1st round bust called bryan thomas
Bounce back?? In regards to Carter; please stop lookin in the past because Carter never been part of a great Defense like ours..He will get double digit sacks this year..
nyjunc said:Great defense? Give me a break. Miami's D's have been overrated for a long time and he played on a top 5 D in SL that WON a SB which is something this "great" Miami D has never come close to doing.
GrnMtnMan said:Yeah that pourous smog must going straight to your head - St. Louis' D definitely didn't win them a Superbowl. A Superbowl win consists of 19 or 20 games.

GrnMtnMan said:Overrated? What are you talking about? I guess I would need to know how you measure a "great" defense. Why would you say that Miami's D is overrated?
GrnMtnMan said:I'd have to say '01 was an anomaly - if you throw out that year (2 sacks) he's averaged 9 sacks a year for his career. Over the last 5 years he's averaged pretty much 7 sacks a year. Granted in Miami's "overrated" D he may have a hard time shedding that single blocker he'll be lining up against. Because we all know that Taylor will be drawing the double team. My guess is he gets his normal 7 or 8 sacks with the opportunity to notch 10-11.
nyjunc said:One that doesn't fold in big games like this Miami D has ALWAYS done in the last decade. What you do in Sept and Oct is fine but Dec and Jan are more important and you can name game after game every year since about '97 where they were smacked around in a big spot.
'97- losing a 41-0 game against Indy in Week 16.
'98- Hadn't given up a point at home all season but in biggest game of year(to that point) the Jets come in and take control early and win a huge Sun Night game.
Also thrashed 38-3 at Denver in playoffs. That's big time, down 14-0 in the 1st qtr.
'99- lost twice to Ray Lucas led Jets giving up 28 and 38 points.
thrashed even worse than Denver in playoffs losing 62-7 to jax and were down 24-0 in 1st qtr.
'00- gave up 24 points to 5-11 NE in final week, luckily O scored 27. Lost 27-0 to Oak in playoffs, down 20-0 at half.
'01-lost 20-3 to Bal at home in playoffs.
'02-lost at Minny w/ big lead late(6 win Minny) and then collapsed at NE w/ the div title on the line.
'03- lost back to back games to knock them out of playoffs vs. NE and Philly giving up 34 at home to Philly(a season high for the Eagles). But they did win the 2 "big" games the next 2 weeks against the 6-10 Bills and Jets.
I dont care what the rabkings say, D's are judged come crunchtime and your D has never stepped up in big games.
TakeIt2DaHouse said:i see somewhere in the range of 12-17 sacks along with the most qb pressures in the league and a pro bowl start.
GrnMtnMan said:There's one fairly common theme here, late in the season break downs. Wonder if that could be attributed to our outstanding offense. You were kind enough to post our offensive prowess during those games too. Now if you're down in a "must-win" game do you try to take chances and make some plays or sit back in a zone?
