How Many Wins in 2013 was Ryan Tannehill Responsible for?

How did I attack you? Are you reading words I'm not posting? You deflect entirely too much.

The defense allowed 10 pts vs. Cleveland. That means the offense needed to score more than that to win. They did. 23 points. TD pass to Hartline.

The defense allowed 20 pts vs. Indy. Again, that means the offense needed to score more than that to win. 24 points. TD pass to Wallace.

He was sacked 9 times those first 2 games by the way.

The game vs. San Diego. Defense allows 16 points which means the offense needed to score more than that to win. They did. 20 points. Why couldn't Philip Rivers, who made it to the divisional round, do more to beat Tannehill and Miami? He's better right?

Th pick 6 vs. Pittsburgh wouldn't have been why Miami lost had they given up that last play to Antonio Brown. Had Brown scored it would've been on the special teams unit for allowing the game-winning TD.

I may have used a different quote but you hurled an insult today in one of them.(edit: I found it)

you called me a "nutjob" but I guess that isn't hurling an insult?

they shut Cle down, it took your O until late to pull away and the D created 3 TOs as well.

you should expect to allow 20 pts on the road against an O like Indy. They held Luck and Co. scoreless in the 4th when he has been one of the best late game QBs in the game.

9 sacks, awesome. how many were on him for poor decision making?

your line of thinking is every win is b/c of the O? I keep seeing you say" they allowed x and needed to score y to win", what kind of argument is that?

Rivers couldn't do more b/c your D played well like they did most of the year to keep you in games.

The D didn't allow a TD to Brown on that play though, right? and when Pitt got the ball back up 3 what happened? they turned Pitt over on downs. Ryan kept Pitt in the game, sorry that bothers you.

Living in the past still. It's easy to see you'll never let that go. Since Tannehill and Miami sucks so incredibly bad seeing as how they couldn't win a game at home against a non-playoff team, why do you throw it in our faces that the Jets technically finished in 2nd place?

In the present Ryan has never played a postseason game b/c w/ 2 games left needing one win he led his O to 7 TOTAL points.

wouldn't it make sense to assume w/ more attempts he'd have more completions and yards? how did all those #s help you win this year?

The only #s that matter are the FOUR playoff wins on the road. Ryan couldn't even win and win and in game at HOME against a non playoff team

Tannehill's stats are pretty much the same as a year ago but, I have seen improvement in his overall game. Can't offer stats or facts to back that up, just watching him play.

No doubt he improved, I saw it and I think he as ability to be pretty good but some folks think he was very good this year b/c the #s were good. He's not there yet but I am worried he will get there.

He also had a much higher completion %.

how did all those #s help you win this year?

Well in a year, where Miami had pretty much no O-line in 1st half, then inconsistent O-line in the 2nd half, in a year where Miami continued to lose receiving talent all through the year, in a year where two O-linemen tried to become one of the biggest distractions of the year, Miami still did well enough where they were in the drivers seat to get in the playoffs.

No the only numbers that matter is how many SB did you reach, and win.

WOW!!! And you're a Phan saying that "Tannehill and Miami sucks?"

No. I don't think Miami sucks. They're average and have been for years. But Junc, with all the fabulous information he blesses us with, shows us peons how awful Miami has been for 20+ years.

I do believe you're a nutjob. That's 1 insult. Not multiple as you alluded to. I don't know how many sacks were "his fault". Since you do, tell me how many were on him.

Tannehill didn't keep Pittsburgh in the game. Miami was up 17-14 before that pick 6. He throws the pick 6 and they trailed 21-17. He then threw a TD to Hartline to put Miami back up 24-21. The defense, who is full of Pro Bowlers, gave the lead back up on a pass to Cotchery that gave Pittsburgh a 28-24 lead. Tannehill again throws a TD pass to put Miami back up 31-28. He then led another drive that resulted in an additional 3 points that gave Miami a 34-28 lead.

The defense, full of Pro Bowlers still, was an inch away from blowing it on the last play to Brown.

The improvement this year does not show on the stats but, still exist, I believe he learned more in the Jets final loss than he could have with a win. You could see it in him post game.

You have reason to worry. RT will be VG or better this year. COUNT ON IT!!!!

And as a PHAN, you accept that, and do not dispute it from a Jets fan? GODDAMNIT!!! That's embarrassing.

The "evidence" that this makes it seem Romo is responsible for more wins than Brady should just be tossed in the trash. This is just abysmal.

He actually improved no more than does the average QB from rookie year to year two:

http://www.finheaven.com/showthread...cond-Year-Starter-at-QB-since-1994&highlight=

Is that better than regressing or not improving at all? Sure, but I don't think we should make a big deal of improvement that should be expected likely by virtue of playing experience. It's not like he made a quantum leap out there.

Wow! I still see people arguing with JUNC about mark sanchez... Tannehill has definitely improved, some posters on this site, not so much...

Nice to see Foles at the top, because his coach is coming to Miami.

As far as the 2014 season is concerned, it could mean that Ryan Tannehill fails to reach the level he's expected to, even with fresh coaching, and we're drafting another QB in 2015, or it could mean he blossoms in his 3rd year, under the tutelage of a new OC and QB coach, and a new system, and the Phazor (Philbin/Lazor) Era has begun. (ha ha..sorry I don't take credit for that word). In any event, it's a flip of the coin.
