HUGE Pats and Chargers fans

If that scenario is correct why is everybody saying with a loss today and a Cincy and Baltimore win we would be eliminated?
If Baltimore wins today they could lose next week and end up with 9-7 as well.

Not really. We would still have to have the Ravens lose one of these next two games. The only variable it changes is if the Ravens do finish 9-7, we need the Chargers to get there as well. That looks like it should happen, especially with the Chiefs having nothing to play for next week vs. the Chargers.

Rooting for the Patriots to win just so that we can squeeze into the playoffs only to get bounced in the first round.

Sad stuff that I'm reading around here. Root for the Dolphins. Dolphins win their games and everything else takes care of itself.

No time to root for other teams muchless the Patriots.

Because they dont know what they are talking about. We would have to have the Chargers lose today as well to be eliminated.

As long as the Chargers beat the Raiders, we can not be eliminated today. But, a Ravens win would put us in a world of hurt.

If the Ravens lose today and the Chargers win, we actually have the best chance of the 3 to get in.

They'd lose the division to Cincy but get in over Miami in that scenario.
 
I guess I would say who cares, this team sucks. But hey if we can somehow get a playoff spot I'd be happy even if we get blown out.

How bout you learn the tiebreak system and understand how conference losses and non conference losses can be a huge difference in certain scenarios.

The Ravens losing to the Lions and losing to the Pats or Bengals were two completely different things. I said all along if we finish 9-7 we were still going to need the Ravens to lose to either the Pats or the Bengals. That still is the case whether or not they lost to the Lions.

If the Ravens had lost to the Lions, but beat the Pats and Bengals, they would have won a 3 team tie at 9-7 with us and the Chargers. But, losing to the Bengals or Pats and finishing 9-7, the Phins win the 3 team tie.

Get a clue.

Let me rehash that:
if Dolphins win next week and Baltimore loses today and wins next week and Chargers win both we all would be 9-7 and our conference record would be the tie breaker (I assume).
If Baltimore wins today and loses next week and we win and Chargers win both games we are in a three-way tie (9-7) as well.
In both scenarios Baltimore has a 7-5 conference record. We would have a 8-4 conference record and and SD 6-6.

So why would we be eliminated if Baltimore wins today?
 
To be honest, I don't even care about today's loss. Truth is we should've beaten the Bills way back in October when we played them at home, that was the game that mattered. But we didn't, and now we're struggling to make the playoffs when we should be going into next week with a win and you're in scenario, at the very least.

Still, if the Pats and the Chargers win, we'll have a chance. So yeah, I'm rooting for them. But I won't even be upset if we miss the playoffs, we've had our chances and missed them, no excuses to be in this situation right now.
