In both scenarios Baltimore has a 7-5 conference record. We would have a 8-4 conference record and and SD 6-6.

So why would we be eliminated if Baltimore wins today?

No, if we all have a 9-7 record Ravens get in because they have the tie breaker over us by beating us earlier in the year. We need the Ravens to lose both their games now and we need to win next week.

None of it matters anyways. We are not a playoff team

Get in to the playoffs and you never know what can happen.

no they don't because with a three way tie, it goes to conference record which fins would have a better conference record. Yes just fins and ravens at 9-7 would make fins lose out but not a three way tie with chargers as well.

Head to head is thrown out in 3 way ties.
 
Despite not being a heavy poster I've been a lurker for a while even longer then my membership....how the hell can people be picky about how they get into the dance? Yeah there's no denying the abortion of a game they just had, literally the worst game since no one could tackle Fred Taylor.......but to say who cares if they get in? They've been in the playoffs once in 12 years who gives a rats ass how they get in. They've proven they can beat nasty teams that's all that matters, sell your soul to belicheat and let's get in (pardon the rah rah sentiment after a loss like that)

If the Dolphins, Ravens and Chargers all have a 9-7 record, the Dolphins would get in due to a better conference record than the Chargers.
 
IF Patriots and Chargers win this afternoon, Miami goes into week 17 needing a win and either a Chargers win or ravens loss.

It's a three way tie. SD has the three way tie over baltimore in the scenario you quoted
 
I don't think Baltimore would win in Cincinnati next week anyway. Bengals are pretty dominant at home and already lost to them once. If Chargers can win out we just need to beat the Jets. Don't trust we'll be able to do that after today though.
 
I don't care what anyone else says, I'm rooting for the ravens to lose today and next week and for the Phins to beat the jets next week.

Not true in a 3 way tie. 3 way tie goes to conference record and we win that. If SD does not win out we are screwed though.
