He tore his ACL. He's done for the year. Period. You don't rush back from a knee injury.

It wouldn't be rushing back if he's healed and ready to go. I agree it's a long shot that he'll be back any time this year, but it is still a possibility.

True ... if he was healed. But, it doesn't heal that quickly. For ACL repairs using donated tendons, the recovery time is 4-6 months at best. If it's his own tendon, it's more like 6-8 months. I don't know which type of surgery he had, I would suspect that he had the cadaver. But, that means no sooner than 4 months. So, end of November, early December at the very earliest. If so, then it's not worth it.

Without a doubt... And i really see daniels progressing this year. You never know poole and daniels could be the next madison-surtain.

Once you have knee surgery, riding a stationary bike is standard PT as soon as possible after surgery to get back your range of motion. You can't judge someone's riding a stationary bike as an indicator of their progress. It would be nice to have him but let's say hypothetically that he was healthy towards the end of the season. He wouldn't be effective anyway b/c he hasn't practiced for months. Why even bother this year?

It's possible. Certainly not likely, but possible. I remember Fred Barnett coming back to us 12 weeks after tearing his ACL. He was never the same WR prior to the injury, though. I'd rather Poole not rush back. We're not going to the Super Bowl this year.

More realistically, my hope is that Poole will recover the way James McKnight did. Yeah, he was lost for the season. But he didn't lose an ounce of speed or agility, and had the best season of his career his first year back. :)

That'd be great but I just don't see it happening. I was a bit excited when we lost Pat because it gave Will Poole a chance to step up but then the injury happened. I really want him to come back and play this season but hopefully he'll just do what's best for his health and the club's future.

we had this same rumor with david boston last year..........

It may have been the same rumor about him coming back, but it wasn't the same injury at all. Boston had a tendon injury while Poole has a ligament injury.
