I See Three Probable Options At Qb.

And if I’m miami I’m calling first about the #1 pick before I’m calling about rosen.

I’d want to know just how available the top pick is. Even if we don’t talk cost up front

I’d want to hear them say it’s off the table. Til they did I would proceed as if it’s not

I don't have any insight as to what the new coaching staff is looking for in a QB, but I do have an opinion as to who is likely to be available.

Option #1: Use one of the 5 QB's that are currently on the roster. It adds no more expense and does not use up draft picks or cap space. Let the coaches determine which of those five QB's they want. It is likely that RT will be the best QB of the five we now have.

Option #2: Release Ryan Tannehill. It looks like we are going to be parting with him anyway, so if we do not keep him for one more year and cut him now, then we open up more cap space. We are not likely to find our QB in this draft, so use the front end of the draft to address our other areas of need. If we get a QB the coaches like near the end of the draft, we don't really lose any meaningful position of need upgrades.

Option #3: Release RT and get Rosen in free agency. He won't be that expensive. The possible advantage for us would be that his attitude may change after the rookie season he had along with the ignobility of being traded after his first year. We let some other team pay the price of his less then stellar production and do the dirty work of waking him up to the reality of the NFL in that he is not the hot short he thought he was. He may bloom in Miami.

Don’t agree... get rid of Tannehill...draft Drew Lock!

Landry was not worth more than a 4th on a franchise tag number. Maybe after his third season you could of gotten more, but not on the tag. Had nothing to do with leverage. Miami could of let him walk and probably recoup a comp pick but they had every intention of replacing him with Wilson and AD so they got what they could via a trade.

Cleveland threw us a bone due to the tons of cap space they had.

Rosen’s perceived value is whatever any team values him at, not the consenus most of the league values him at. Any team looking at Lock or Daniel Jones in the first round should be calling Zona’s phone, which is why Rosen’s asking price will remain high.

From a pure talent perspective (true value) Landry was most certainly worth more than a 4th rd pick.
His perceived value around the league (due to the factors you mentioned) resulted in a 4th rd pick.
You contradict me after you just supported my argument.

If i'm Arizona and all I am getting for Rosen is for a 3rd than I hold on to him. If we are trading up, it should be #2 to San Fran to check into Josh Allen. He is my dream 1st round pick.

Once Landry reached the tag number, his value diminished. It really had nothing to do with Miami’s situation and the ability to pay him or not or any leverage they did not have. It would of held true for any team in that situation.

There really is no trade value market for a high end slot WR making $15 million AAV. To get a 4 was stealing in hindsight but they should of traded him before the trade deadline to get closer to an actual value that reflects his talent.

As an example... Antonio Brown just went for a three and a five. Talent is no real indicator of trade value.

No leverage? Their leverage is a team needing the services of a young QB that went top 10 a year ago and having the ability to say no and keep him if the offer they get is not up to their liking.

Why would they take on a $8 million dollar cap hit and settle for a third when they can keep him on as a quality backup for 3 years and $6 million total.

They cut Mike Glennon, even if they draft Murray they need a backup . . . .Rosen fits that perfectly and wouldn't require anything.

People keep assuming there will be some troubled lockerroom or something yet there is no proof of any of that.

Arizona laughs you off the phone if you offer a third . . . .as they should. Experts who say “they would give a third for Josh” haven’t thought this through.

Arizona isn’t calling teams desperate like Miami is calling teams on Ryan Tannehill . . . .they hold the cards, if you want Rosen you need to come decent.

They could... Doubt Rosen would have s very good attitude about it though!

Lower Tannehill's cap number by extending him, let him start the season, because you guys say he's not a winner, Draft Lock at 13
