Teddy seemed like a promising young QB, but even when healthy had performed on an average level (still young). Plus, he had major knee surgery. I can't see throwing a young QB into a brand new offense coming off a catastrophic knee problem and hoping it works out better than Moore...plus having to give up picks for him.

The pick, in this situation, would be worth it as you get a proven QB on a 2 million a year contract for likely 2 years, while pocketing 8 figures for Landry or whoever.

Obviously injury stuff will play a factor, but if he is available for a day 3 pick and is cleared . . . i would have to cosign hoops in thinking that option opening up would be better than anything else we have seen.

It's my understanding bridgewater won't be fully healthy until at least mid season. His injury was catastrophic. Not sure he will ever be the same, it will be hard to trust that knee

Is bridgewater cleared? If so that's the call I'm making today

You trade for him you could even make the decision to sit on tannehill and not have the surgery although at this point it seems a forgone conclusion.

Then you could carry Moore as the 3rd qb. If he didn't like it there's the door and I'd escort his *** out

Last I heard he was still on the PUP.

Video of him moving and throwing at camp on August 1st: http://min.247sports.com/Bolt/Teddy-Bridgewater-spotted-throwing-at-Vikings-training-camp-105710789

Maybe they give him to us for a conditional 3 and a 5

If so I'd do it right now

1) Bridgewater - an average QB still trying to get right after a catastrophic knee injury, who likely won't be ready for contact until NEXT season...lol, yes trade for him,, brilliant move, that is what we need, another gimp at QB, but instead of a good gimp we get a barely competent gimp

2) Trade Landry for Kirk Cousins - whoever wrote this imbecilic drivel does realize it would take 3 Landrys and a 1st round pick to even get through to the receptionist, right Right?

3) Kap - even a buffoon like Ross knows better.

People put the meaningless statistical sheet down and listen to yourself. Think about what your trying to pass off here. Do you really think Gase is an idiot for starting the wrong QB? Please spare yourself the embarrassment of answering that unless it is a resounding NO.

Coaching means everything in football. So first off any QB/team under HC Philbin would have failed miserably. And we did. The team consistently fell on it's face from being unprepared and under-coached.

Also realize that during the first 6-8 games last year the entire offense was learning and adjusting to a new system. It's not just the QB. It's the offense as a whole learning a new system; it's the OL learning new blocking schemes and protection shifts; it's the receivers learning new lingo and route concepts; it's the RB learning how to read their lineman and where their lanes will be; etc. etc. etc.

So when you put numbers in a vaccum and claim that Moore had a better run late in the season than Tannehill and the offense did from earlier in the year, well . . no ****. Once the offense gelled it became easier to replace a single player rather than the entire unit learning on the go to kick off the regular season.

Do yourselves a favor and review Matt Moore's career. You're not going to find some diamond in the rough. What you'll find is a perennial backup and journeyman who really has no business running a high powered offense. Which some somehow have managed to dig up by leaning on irrelevant statistics.

So, you are saying that Gase is an excellent evaluator and we should not question why he also decided that Tannehill is better than Moore, but you speak of Moore as if any garbage in the street is better than him, yet Gase didn't think the same because he was ok with Moore as the backup above all of the option he had available. Even for this year, he could have hired a new one knowing the risk of Tannehill re-injury. Sorry Mr. Perfect but your argument against Moore makes no sense at all.

Think it's too early Hoops. I mean the video looks good, but he's got a long ways to go yet. Also the Vikings loved Bridgewater before he went down and they still love him, and if they thought he had a good chance of recovery, they would keep him over Bradford for sure. And if they were willing to give him up for a 3rd and a 5th, that says a lot more about his condition than that video.

Unless you think bridgewater can take us to the playoffs this year or really push Tannehill for the starting job next year (even with a torn knee of his own) I find talk of trading a 3rd for him rather alarming!

Ok fair enough I didn't know his medical situation but I tell ya what he's better than he gets credit for. He doesn't lose you football games and he could run this o no problem. Pre snap reads and progression based o is his game

And he's the only option that could potentially have a future with us. The other options are rentals and scrubs

And you aren't getting a qb without giving up some real compensation unless that qb is trash

Remember it, write it down, sticky it. If the dolphins allow Matt Moore to become the starter of our upcoming 2017-18 season I will be the first to say to all the doubters and haters of Matt Moore that I am willing to BET that we go at minimum 9-7 with him starting.

For some reason a lot of you don't see what I see in him. He makes quicker decisions, he buys time in the pocket, he lead us to the playoffs by ending last season going 3-1 when we could have easily gone 0-4.

Yeah the Tanny Lovers are going to throw a lot of flack at this but REMEMBER I told you first, Moore will lead us to the playoffs if he's given the chance to start!

I am not that positive on Moore, but I really hope you are right! What I don't get is why everyone is throwing away the season when last season lots of games were won by Ajayi, some heroics by a defender, some very good adjustments by Gase, and some crucial plays by the ST unit. To be honest, sometimes I think I am one of few that thinks Tannehill is not that franchise QB that it is impossible to substitute. He is good, very athletic and still with upside on his 6th year, but he is nothing close to the second coming of Aron Rodgers or Tom Brady. I think there are lots of capabble QBs (with less upside) as Tannehill. Moore might be one of them, at least I will wait.
I don't think the outcome would be much different with Tanny. The schedule looks really challenging and before these sad news I thought the season would depend number 1 on Gase coaching ability, 2 on Ajayis and the OL getting better, 3 our run defense improving a lot, 4 Tannehills improvement. 1 to 3 are still possible and Moore might give us a nice surprise. I for sure will welcome it!!!!

If Bridgewater lives up to expectations , I am sure we could get something in return for 2018.

Bridgewaters rookie contract salary has to be peanuts too by qb standards

Osweiller failed in Houston with O'Brien who also runs the E&P offense. Not an option, IMO.
I agree he did fail terribly. That playoff game was one of the worst I've ever seen a quarterback play. Still he did all right in Denver and that was a year after Gase so…….
