id rather roll with matt moore if tannehill is out at all
The more I think about it, the more I think that we may end up with a reasonably-cheaply-acquired Brock Osweiller backing up either Tannehill or Moore. He and Gase have had a mutual admiration society. Before the disastrous Houston season, Gase, as his QC and then OC was singing his praises. So they have worked together well.
With all the talk that Gase would have accepted a SF HC position with Kaepernick, was a major difference in Jay Cutler's performance, worked wonders with Tannehill and could do the same with either of those other 2, Osweiller is being overlooked. It's reasonable to believe that based on Adam's first hand observations, he would have the belief that he could make those same impactful differences with Osweiller.
Now I know he's the least favorable preference, but based on positive past association, ease of acquisition, likelihood that Cleveland would eat most of his comp, it certainly is within the realm of possibility.
vis a vis:
and an outside opinion advocating trading for Osweiller:
After some deliberation, I actually want to rescind my vote for Tony Romo.
I don't want Cutler, Romo, or Kap to sign on this team. The Dolphins have said Moore will start, meaning we are signing a media circus type of player to be a backup. That's a recipe for disaster, and if that QB does wind up starting at some point, the story of the 2017 Dolphins becomes that mercenary quarterback, rather than Adam Gase's 53 man football team.
I don't know about you, but that's not what I'm looking for out of this season.
I voted for Kaep because he's not injury prone and doesn't feel like a retread QB. If we sign him, the media circus will last 2 weeks max then we can focus on football.
Most people still have no idea what Colin Kaepernick was even kneeling for. Most hate him for being anti-American or unpatriotic when that had nothing to do with his protest. The guy took great personal sacrifice to bring attention to his issue. He wasn’t giving lip service to it, he paid dearly. Very few would ever do such a thing for any issue. He probably had no idea when it started that the protest and kneeling would get far more press and publicity than the actual issue he was doing it for. He became a bigger story. But once you are in and committed, what do you do? Cut your losses and cave in or stick to your guns and ride it out? His choice was to stick to it and ride it out. So give him props for having the fortitude to dedicate himself to his cause and man up through the waves of hostility and standing up (or kneeling down) for something he took on and stuck with all season. There were guys on our team who did it too. If he comes in and says I will dedicate who I am to being the best quarterback I can be, you have to know the guy is serious and he will not waver under pressure or criticism. Everybody deserves a second chance and do a little research and you might even agree with him. I don’t believe you should take your personal issues with you to work and become a distraction on your bosses time. To me, that publicity was stolen from NFL broadcast minutes. I disagree with him in doing it at work. But that’s a different issue than what he was protesting and I basically do agree with what he was trying to say. I would have no problem with him as a quarterback playing football because of his one man protest against oppression during the 2016 season. Move on. Throw the rock, man.
