IMO We should focus on Defense in the draft.

I'm ok with going defense in the first as long as they get a tackle very soon after.
Same with TE, a true seam threat woud do wonders for this offense but a starting RT has to be found no later than Friday

O line all the way we are ok at tight end. We just signed a rb .Granted I think we could have done better than Moreno. But he is there. RT is a big hole right now! And with all the signings we had defensively. Tells me Hickey is going to fix the damn line! And granted sone of the O line guys we got are questionable! O line is the target.

Probably not so good since he'd be a backup QB
LOL. True, but I was thinking what Tannehill could do if Miami assembled that type of talent around him. In the AFC Championship game, I don't think NE ever even touched Peyton Manning when he passed the ball. I think that's one of the reasons the Tannehill to Wallace connection has been so erratic. A qb has that time table in his head as to how much time he has to throw. Tannehill knew he didn't have much time even with short patterns, let alone the longer developing plays.

I agree with the OP.
Mosely in the 1st, and Borland in the 3rd.
Ellerbee and Wheeler both sux and they were a mistake. Draft these two players and cut our losses next year with those bums.
Our secondary and dline are very good. All we need is outstanding tough tackling machines to stop the Bills and Jets from running all over us.

I think if you want Borland you spend that 50th pick on him because you might not get a chance after that...

We NEED to draft a RT by the second round. Past that, I believe we can fill the OG's with a vet and what we have, and not lose anything this year. Not saying we should not draft a G to develop, just that I don't see it and something we have to do.

If Martin is there you run to the table with that card...

I don't think we're set anywhere take BPA.

We have to go S and LB early, but our offense held us back too much last year not to try to inject new life into it.

Based purely on last season, our defense was very good, and when you compare their play relative to our offense, they were EXCELLENT. Our offense did NOTHING to protect our defense last season (bottom 5 in scoring, bottom 5 in rushing, bottom 5 in time of possession - we did our defense literally no favors) and still we were in every game because of our very very solid defensive play.

Losing Clemons and Soliai is definitely a hit, but we also need to bank on the fact that our rookies, specifically Jordan and Taylor, will be able to play for us this season. Moreover, the thought should be that Wheeler and Ellerbe will improve as they both had poor outings and were unfamiliar with schemes and players around them. With this in mind, our defense should hopefully be right around the same place (or better) but our offense needs a huge improvement.

I think getting Moreno and especially Lazor were great moves. The OL is still a work in progress and is the biggest question mark with this team. You fix the OL and you can fix our issue of lack of offensive balance that has plagued this team for over a decade.

last years calamity of a draft wasnt enough for you? keep ignoring the offense and we'll be making the playoffs once in the next 13 years.... AGAIN!

If they can land a big impact LB with the 19th pick go for it! It's what they need to get close to some of the top defenses in the NFL.

I would be okay if they draft any position early in the draft except defensive line and QB. Even QB would get some consideration from me as early as the third round if the right guy was on the board. That is not a refection of Ryan Tannehill, it is just a reflection of how important the QB position is and the fact that Matt Moore is nothing more than an expensive lifetime backup QB.

I think we need to start looking at quarterbacks as well. Ryan is not showing signs of progressing to a franchise quarterback

Surprise, surprise. I mean that makes sense coming from you seeing as how you probably didn't witness his rookie season as you were still a Pitt "fan" at the time. I guess doubling his TDs is no sign of improvement

Dee Ford? How does he fit in with Wake, Vernon, Jordan and Shelby. He simply is not what we need. I agree he appears to be a good player, but not what we need.

If you do anything on defense, we need linebackers. People have really only attacked Wheeler, but Ellerbe wasn't anything impressive either!

Overall though, we still need to fix the OL even more than we need defense.

I'm ok either way, we need major help at guard and RT and major help at LB....at LB our starters are not good enough and we have no depth....secondary has a big question mark on it, hopefully the coaching staff has a good idea on the expected production of our rookie CB and its good, I would be ok with them going LB early in the draft....
