Incognito lands in Miami after stop in cincy

Incognito...another penalty on the field results in 15 yards
Marshall...another off-field incident results in year long suspension

in a way I guess your right...

incognito comes in and competes for a starting job and MAYBE contributes. if he doesnt we cut a backup.

marshall comes in and becomes an instant starter and playmaker on offense, and while it costs us a first round pick, #12, some might argue the risk is worth the reward.

I'm one of those guys. the fourth or fifth best wr in the leauge, maybe top three, for the 12th overall pick in the draft?

the train of thought used above for guys looking for clean slates can't apply to incognito if we can't apply to marshall or anybody else for that matter.

True - point taken.

They just lie at complete opposite ends of the risk/reward spectrum. Its easy to pull the trigger on a high risk bet when there isn't a sizable investment.

I'm actually not against trading for Marshall because in the end I don't know the man. That's what this front office gets paid for and evaluated on - doing their homework on high risk calls like this.

I want a young, productive, receiver and to get one we may have to take that risk.

Dream scenario for those who believe the Dolphins organization is on par with a christian mission:

"And Pat White passes to Ted Ginn on a wobbler for 3 yards.....You know Kent, this team may not be going anywhere fast.....but they sure are damn nice guys."

"Ya steve, their intangibles are through the roof, if only they had any talent, oh well I set Pat up with my daughter just the other night.......and another 3 and out for the Fins. Their offense should be explosive next year trading up to #2 to draft Tebow."

" Why trade up Kent, hes projected to fall to the 6th round?"

"The Dolphins and Parcells are trying to reward nice guys Steve, and the fans of Finheaven are loving it. There is more to life than winning and its a breathe of fresh air for these So. Florida fans to realize that. Selecting a nice guys 4 rds too early to reward them for their kind personalities and good familys has become this proud franchise's MO."

Let's see... Sparano, DeGuglielmo, Bonamego, DeLeone, Fasano, Nalbone... Incognito should feel right at home. Lets get him signed pronto.

That sounds like a list of mafia members...

do you people realize we ARENT GETTING BRANDON MARSHALL

do you people realize we ARENT GETTING BRANDON MARSHALL

DO you realize thats not the ****ing point....and no **** we arent getting him. DO you also realize there was ZERO risk to bring him in and talk to him. DO you realize to completely glaze over a top 5 skill player in the game before his prime with again not atleast meeting and doing your research is completely unacceptable as a F.O, esp at our greatest position of need on O and add a huge target for your developing young QB.

Do you also realize reading the paper or watching outside the lines does not constitute "research." Get police reports, talk to the guy one and one and atleast evaluate the situation as professionals.

If we do not address the WR issue before the 2nd rd it is a huge mistake for hennes development and this team as a whole. That is the point, and few people on this site realize it is ok to criticize the FO for their lack of creativity. Tell the TUNA this isnt 1980 and sometimes oppertunities like this do come along. I respect his opinion of a person to the highest degree....but not atleast interviewing this guy is a mistake. That is my point....DO you realize that dude?

What's the point of bringing him in to talk to him if, as you say yourself, we aren't going to sign him? Just to say hi?

The train of thought on Marshall is that although he is one of the best WR in the league, he has problems on and off the field as does Incognito. But if we trade for Marshall we are giving up that first rounder that could be turned into Spiller, Thomas, Graham, Bryant etc. and if his problems continue not only have we wasted a huge contract on him but have lost out on that talent as well. Whereas with Incognito we have only lost the salary he signs for, and I'm sure he will not be demanding a fat contract

then why bring him up in every thread? its getting to be ridiculous now

why isnt every team in the NFL going after Marshall then?

whats the point of bringin him in to visit if they have no intentions of signing him...do YOU realize that DUDE? its called a waste of time

while i understand your frustration,,, nolan is telling this front office everything they need to know about b.marshall

well hell bud we could bring him in and lowball him like we low balled every other FA besides karlos dansby. would that be any better??

his point was, bring the guy in. talk to him face to face. ask him the tough questions. do your due diligence. don't just scan over finheaven threads and read a bunch of guys who THINK they know that one slip up results in marshall being in the middle of a year long suspension.

the one suspension that sticks out the most to me is mcdaniels power trip. suspend bmarsh for conduct detrimental to the team. but suspend him for the preseason games when it doesn't matter. make sure you have him in uniform for the games when they count.

that team has been a joke since josh took over. an incident with cutler.
incidents with marshall. an incident with nolan.

I get that were not bringing him in here. the problem I and most fans have, are that we didn't even explore bringing him in.

didn't actively seek Q.

we want to settle for guys like derek mason and speculate on josh cribbs a return specialist. nevermind the young guys who could stick around a while and be major contributors.

They don't need to bring him in to do their due diligence. It's been done.

I hope we sign him to a huge contract just to see the FH meltdown.

I love the arm chair QBs thinking that they have any idea what working in a front office in the NFL is like. I am sure that they have detailed knowledge of how the salary cap works, how contracts are drawn out, they know these players personally, etc. They are experts. Parcells and Ireland? Hacks the whole lot of them. Do I agree with every decision? No. Do I trust them more than the average mouth breather on this site? Yes.

They want to bring in Marshall for a visit? FOR WHAT REASON. They are not going to trade for him. They cant seem to get that through their heads... its like they have a learning disability or something. HE IS NOT COMING.

Also giving 2 picks in a deep draft plus a new contract to a 30 year old receiver that is starting to feel the effects of his style of play is dumb.

PS. - You call it low balling. I call it finally being smart and not paying overrated players that are not what we need ( Clark and Rolle). Why dont you throw your own money into the pot slick, if it is no big deal?
