To be fair to Richie, who I'm not really a big fan of as a person, Schefter has had it out for him for a while now.

That may be true, but it misses my point. Any competent PR person will tell you the way you deal with this type of situation is by organizing a PR campaign in which your lawyer, your agent and other well-respected acquaintances publicly tell your story for you. You have to sit back and remain absolutely silent unless/until you are testifying in court.

It's unfortunate, but this is life for a public figure in the modern age.

I'm not trying to do anything, and do not know what actually happened, same as you. I have dealt with HR in the past, and I believe they are crazy.

In construction, while building a supermarket in CT, one of my crew told a gal that she looked hot. She reported it, and they wanted him fired. I asked them if they were FRAKIN NUTS and they left him, under my responsibility, to continue work, with the agreement that if it happened again he would be fired, with me likely. True story for a stock exchange company.

Google Human Resources. You will find that a man can only stare at a great looking gal for a few seconds without it being a problem. NOT agreeing, just advising of the current day and age we live in.

I understand all of that, i have had my run ins with HR as well. The employee that called the woman hot, did not do anything wrong. The woman made it known through HR that she does not feel comfortable with that comment, via HR passes the message. So if he does it again and knowingly knows it doesnt make her feel comfortable, then it becomes wrong and now its harrassment and he can be fired. But he could not be fired under the first comment.

My incident was even crazier, Im a high yellow black man, and there was a girl that was working overtime and looked tired and I said to her "I see they got you slaving". She reported me to HR and told them I made a racial slur and called her a slave. HR spoke with me in disbelief and I told them what happend and all they said was just dont speak to her anymore.

Martin didnt take the appropriate measures, if he was not comfortable with the conduct. In return, the team would have been told to treat Martin different which would of isolated him. The relationships that the team have with each other would not stopped AND should have not stopped, but stopped with Martin. He would of just been isolated even more because the team would not have been comfortable with him.

I have a department I look over which is entirely all women and I have to treat each differently. Some of them cant handle to be talked to in a certain way even if it is appropriate. We talk about it and to see if we can work around it. But leaving the job and not willing to communicate with each other is a no no. At some extent we all have to learn how to communicate to people we dont like or comfortable with. Its part of being an adult and professional.

You are right because, even thou Adam deserves it from Incognito, Adam has more tools slander Incognito name. Its an unfair fight, twitter vs National Televised Network.

I would love to see Martin and Incognito join a lawsuit against Adam. I think that would hurt Adams rep soooo bad even thou Martin and Incognito may not actually win in the court. If that happened, I could see Martin winning some respect back from his teammates.

Well said, and good post. Many do not understand HR and what they do, and the power they have, and I "think" Cog may be included. IMO, this is going to have far reaching effects on the NFL.

I was watching Ditka, Jackson, Ray Lewis, and Cris Carter on this. The one point which stood out to me was that NFL teams management and coaches know what their players do around the clock. If the Dolphins Gm, coaches, etc did not know this was going on, that's criminal (Cris Carter with the others agreeing).

That's tuff to dispute.

I am torn about this. I was bullied as a child and had to learn to exist and go unnoticed (make myself boring). Later in life as an adult I took martial arts and trained for over 10 years in Hapkido. It really gave me perspective on self-discipline, not on a fighting tool. Bullies come in all forms and many of them are more political and power oriented as adults. They don't have to touch you. I hope things get resolved here with as little damage as possible, but I am afraid there will be some losses. Losses of respect, character, and dignity. Wouldn't it be ironic that something like this might bring down the current staff in Miami vs. actual performance issues in Miami. Adam may have touched on something that ultimately is going on league wide. Not likely to make him real popular.

Rookie hazing happens in a lot of jobs, the Fire Department does the same thing. So do a lot of armed forces. It's not just limited to kids. It's a rite of passage.

This is kind of my feeling on this, im not saying I agree with how Martin handled this at all, I don't like my favorite team being shown in a bad light.
With that being said, with all the info that is available on Incognito I would have to consider the possibility that he may have a negative impact in the locker room.
Do I know this for sure? No, we keep him becsuse Ireland can't draft worth squat.
