Indianapolis Colts trade with Miami idea

I was watching a little of Colin Cowherd today and he was talking about Philip Rivers retiring and how Indy needs a QB now but they have a really solid roster everywhere else. He brought up Miami and said if he were Indy he’s calling Miami and offering 3 first round picks to come up to 3 to get 1 of the 4 QBs in Justin Fields Zach Wilson Trey Lance and Mac Jones. He said Indy would need to get ahead of QB needy teams like Detroit Carolina and Denver so a bidding war could break out for Miami’s pick at 3. He said using Jimmy Johnson’s trade value draft chart to go from 21 where Indy is to 3 it would cost 3 first round picks.

Indy receives pick 3
Miami receives pick 21 2022 #1 2023 #1

Would you do it?
I do not know the trade chart well, but their future #1s will be bottom 5. I would like to be higher than 21 in the first. I would need more. We have 4 picks in the top 50 now. I would want 6 earlier type pics

I thought that the reason Pederson was let go was because he didn’t think Wentz was the guy anymore.
I believe Wentz was a much better qb under Reich. Since he left he has gone down hill.

I'd say at least one or two of the QB's mention for the Colts to draft will still be there at 21 or at least they'll be much closer to 21 if they want to move up. no reason to move up to 3 for a guy like Jones for example so there's zero chance of that happening from the Colts side and as far as us, no way we should move from 3 to 21. It'd take a ton more to move so far down.

Move down from # to the 20s? That's a HUGE gamble. 3 1sts not enough to cover the risk. And I can't imagine INDY doing that. A team at, say, #8, can offer less and give Miami better prospects. I'm inclined 'no'

Well CCs point wasn’t to draft 1 of the 4. His point was depending on which one they fell in love with. He said you don’t gamble if you’re a team like Indy. If you find a guy you covet you come get him. He wasn’t saying Indy would be happy with 1 of the 4. He’s saying of the 4 which ever one Indy coveted most is the one you go get it and you don’t chance it.

He also says Mac Jones is going a lot higher than people think he’s going to. He said the actual scouts were a lot higher on him than the media mock drafts.

If two of the three firsts are this year then it could make sense. 2023 though....nah. You'd need some 2nd rounders in there if that's what you're offering.

Indy could bring in Wentz, as previously mentioned, and still potentially get a guy like Mac Jones at 21.

QBs will go fast this year. I see 5 going by pick 21, maybe quicker.

My first thought was no, that it's trading down too far.

Might change my mind if Indy added a player or two. Jonathan Taylor maybe?
