Is Philbin's Ego A Problem?

Philbin is not a leader.

The man can't cope with strong personalities of the game. Don't tell me anyone here wouldn't love Sherman on our team. Philbin would never allow it. SAD.

Ego? Yea he's got low esteem. His pressers reek of it. Every time he attempts to stand there and talk stern and tough, like defending the organization from Bullygate, he looked uncomfortable and unbelievable to me.

Do you know why Bullygate happened? Because Philbin doesn't have a pulse on this team.

He isn't a leader. He isn't a head coach.

The late season collapse? Do you see, San Fran, Seattle, Denver, New England or even the Bills lie down like we did?

7 measly points? Are you ****ing kidding me?

A team takes on a the personality of their coach.

With the season on the line, The Miami Philbins shat the bed!

There is not one person on this forum that knows what happens in the locker room, weight room, practice field and frankly during games. Inside knowledge.
You are visually and audibly stimulated at best. In other words, all you got to go on is what you see and what you hear.
You hear these things from third parties and take them as gospel.
You watch Philbin on the sidelines and the guy is calm. Well as someone else posted some of the very best coaches of this game were calm. Even calmer than Philbin.

My point is, all this talk really has no merit nor can anyone prove anything they claim. No one here really knows who Philbin really is.
Until you are a member of the Miami Dolphins and involved in their day to day activities, you don't know ****.
It really is that simple.

We can only form opinions based on what we see and hear. When we see the performance on the field in big moments, and see a man on the sidelines who looks lost and listless, it does not inspire confidence. And then when we start hearing reports that players openly admit to not learning anything under the tutelage of his regime, it further supports the perception that this is a man in over his head.

I may not be in Davie, but I bet you dollars to donuts that even Sparano wins one of those 2 final games and gets into the playoffs.

It is your opinion that he is lost and listless. He could be a raving maniac underneath and we would never know. He is not performing, the players are. They are the only ones to draw conclusions from visually and audibly. Like I said, we know nothing about Philbin and what is going on in his head.

Reports? Since when are we giving any credibility to the press. Especially when they are reports on our dysfunctional Dolphins.
Dysfunctional in the mind of the media. Not in my mind because i do not know.

We can't bet as Sparano is no longer with the team. Tell you what. Pick two numbers tonight in any lottery in the nation. Wanna bet on that?

Philbin is built to be a head coach. If he was fired do you feel he would have a head coaching job in the NFL in the next two three years? We have the same record as the jets and we have plenty more talent then the jets but a coach is suppose to maximize a players strengths and put them in positions to succeed. Philbin does not have those qualities. These last two games show me every thing I needed to see. It is unexplainable how you lay a donut to the bills with Thad Lewis running the show and only seven points to a train wreck in the jets AT HOME. He sees our offense not producing and he was a offensive coordinator for Green Bay but does not jump in and over rule his mentor. You are the head coach n hold players accountable but his coaching staff gets away with murder. I don't see anything in this head coach we have but I have no choice to live with it another year which will be another average year.

skape, how do u know philbin doesn't teach or coach players up? you sit in on their meetings? you attend every practice? u spend time in the locker room?

u see the guy for 3 and a half hours on the sideline on Sunday and u come to the conclusion that pholbin doesn't coach or teach his players...

I agree, and thats why Sherman was fired.

Sherman was a good start. It also sounded like Philbin needed to be talked into that move.

Our Oline was atrocious last year. Why o why is the Oline coach not let go? Friendships are one thing, doing your jobs and results are another.

If my best friend worked for me and may cost me my job, I certainly wouldn't hesitate in letting him go if his work was substandard.

Makes me think the coaches aren't taking enough responsibility. Placing all of the blame on the talent (players).

That's going to be an interesting dynamic next year.
