Sorry for being realistic, I wasn't expecting everyone to hate on me for telling the truth.
You are'nt telling the truth though...you are basically flapping your gums.
Saban was the most qualified man for the job. In fact, in my opinion, he was the ONLY man for the job.
If you don't think he is going about rebuilding this proud franchise the correct way you must have been under a rock for the last 4 months.
The guy cleaned up our cap mess, made smart free agent signings, had the best draft this team has had in years and hired a world class coaching staff. It is not like he is offensive/defensive/special teams coach all in one. He is smart enoguh to let his coaches coach. Saban could fail miserably yet still succeed because of the coaching staff he put together.
He's going to make this team relevent again.
College sucess can be transfered to the NFL stage. Your arguement was "he was a coordinator in the NFL 10 years ago". That is true.
What is also true is Saban has been offered the head job by 4-6 other NFL teams in the last 5 years. It is'nt like the guy just fell into the job. He is considered by footbal people at every level as one of the best 5 football coaches on earth...I think I'll trust football peoples opinion a little more then yours.
Comparing Saban to Spurrier is like comparing a Yugo to a Porsche. Spurrier was more worried about his handicap then his football team. Spurrier was a 9-5er...Saban is a sleep in the office type.
You insinuate that every college coach is a failure in the NFL. Well, Bill Walsh, Jimmy Johnson, Steve Mariucci were college coaches...I think they turned out alright.
The guy has never failed. He took a Michigan State program that was swirling around the bowl and turned them nto a strong program again.
He took LSU, a team that is a religion in the South, also a team that was almost a laughing stock and made them a national power...in a short time.
Don't like Nick? Don't like the choice of Nick to lead us?
Go watch the Pitt Panthers then...seeing as you must be Wanny's one and only supporter.
