I read on multiple sites that the Bus are open to trading Jeremy Zuttah. I don't know much about him (besides his age, 27, height 6'4" and his weight 305#'s) so I looked up his combine numbers and a scouting report. Based on his combine #'s he appears to be a decent athlete. He ran the 40 in 4.99 secs, ran his 3 cone in 7.49 secs, ran his 20 yard shuttle in 4.54 secs, did 35 reps on the bench, had a vert of 26.5 and a long jump of 107".

Then I took a lot at his scouting report, which based on this, it appears he could be a fit for the Fins.

Overview

A versatile offensive lineman with experience at both guard and tackle positions, Zuttah has the combination of quickness, instincts and nastiness scouts are looking for. Despite having not given up a sack since 2005, Zuttah may struggle to find a starting niche at the next level as he is viewed as a bit of a 'tweener. Still, this four-year starter has proven dependable throughout his career for the Scarlet Knights and could prove to be a late-round find as a valuable swingman.

Analysis

Strengths
Positives: Good overall athleticism. ... Good initial quickness off the snap. ... Uses his hands well to position and sustain blocks, flashing some explosion and nastiness. ... Good set up in pass protection. ... Keeps his shoulders square to the defender and has the foot quickness to compete on the outside. ... Versatile offensive lineman with experience at both guard and tackle positions. ... Viewed by some as athletic and instinctive enough to project best inside at center -- a position he has never played. ... High effort player who wants to be good.

Negatives: Considered by some to be a bit of a 'tweener. ... Lacks the size preferred for the outside and gets by on quickness and toughness, rather than strength, as a close-quarter run blocker. ... Lacks true explosiveness to his game and may be a bit of a finished product, considering his work ethic and toughness.

Zuttah is currently under contract this season for $4.5 million and the next for $4.25 million which isn't terrible but my question to those who are better at grading linemen is; Would he be a good fit for our zone blocking scheme at G or T? If he is a good fit what would he be worth in a trade to make sure no other teams get a crack at signing him or would it be better for the Fins to wait out the Bucs to see if they release him?

The good news is Hickey knows him better than any other team. I'll trust his opinion.

Bucs listening to offers for Jeremy Zuttah (C/OG)

Given the connection with the Bucs and Hickey this could be something we look into. He played center for Tampa the last two years, but also played OG before that. I'd like to bring him in at OG. His athleticism is a strength of his, so he would fit in a ZBS. Depending on the compensation, this is a guy I would like to see here. He is a quality player at C and at OG, so he also provides nice depth there. Maybe a conditional day 3 pick would be good. The chance exists that he gets cut, but with his contract and the competition we will have in the open market, it might just be best to trade for him and have him for the the next 2 years.

Here is the Article: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...ill-listen-to-trade-offers-for-jeremy-zuttah/

His contract numbers are as follows: $4.5M this year (2014) and $4.25M next year (2015), UFA in 2016. Those are some very solid numbers for an OG. (http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/tampa-bay-buccaneers/jeremy-zuttah/ )

I would call their bluff and see if they cut him. I like the player a lot and love his versatility.

Wonder what they want for him, sounds like a good option

They won't find what they want and will cut him, let's sign him after he's cut

If they are going to cut him I might offer a 7th round pick. His cap isnt outrageous and then you wouldnt be competing for his services.

If we can trade a 5 or 6 for him then I would be all for trading instead of taking our chances if he gets cut. If he gets cut then we have lots of competition. Doesn't sound like there are many trade offers. If Sproles can go for a 5 I would be willing to bet we could get Zuttah for a 5 or 6. Put him at RG and all of sudden our OL is looking so much better than last year.

By the way trading a 5 or 6 on a player like Zuttah is sure more appealing than taking our chances on finding a diamond in rounds 5 or 6 and end up with another bust.

If they are bound to cut him, send over a 7th.

Decent contract for two years.

He's entered his prime years and has a pretty affordable contract. Seems like Lovie doesn't view him as a starter, but even so they could use the depth with Nicks being questionable to ever return. Odd.

At this point, I would like another interior lineman (or two) and a veteran RB.

That would leave the team needing a RT, TE, LB and DB (or two) in the draft. Very doable.
