Joe Philbin ranks very low among the NFL’s best head coaches.

For all those asking why Philbin should be ahead of McCoy because Philbin beat McCoy and Philbin lost to Marrone (Twice)...I'll break it down for the ones that need to be dumbed down...

Mike McCoy as HC for 1 season with the San Diego Chargers features the following accolades: AFC Wild Card
Joe Philbin as HC for 2 seasons with the Miami Dolphins features the following accolades: None (but lost to Marrone [twice])
Doug Marrone as HC for 1 season with the Buffalo Bills features the following accolades: None (but beat Philbin [twice])

So yes, after easily breaking it down for the simple minded ones, it is quite easy to see that McCoy AND Marrone should indeed be ahead of Philbin.

Coaches in the NFL get too much credit when the team is winning and not enough blame when the team is losing.

I think Garrett is worse than Philbin ... the rest isn't too far off IMO.

he got the most out of Rivers, Rivers is decent but has always been overrated. Notice how they won their playoff game? they didn't allow Rivers to lose it, brilliant coaching.

First he wasn't any good, now he's decent. Make up your mind.

a 2nd yr QB just won the SB, our 1st and 2nd yr QB made title games, keep was a 1st year starter last year in the SB, Flacco made the title game as a rookie, etc... I don't buy the young excuse.

Seattle, the Jets and San Francisco all had better teams than Miami in 2013 did.

Wallace wasn't the HR threat b/c they didn't have a QB who could get him the ball. you had excellent weapons when healthy, after the injuries you still had good weapons.

Tannehill did in fact miss some deep balls. Wallace also had his share of drops. You didn't answer my comment about Miami and their supposed weapons. Shocker.

I love when you take every word literally.

sure but Miami still had playoff caliber talent and they had better coaching.

drops are part of the game, he missed more deep balls than he had drops.

seasons are 16 games long, the teams w/ the best records make the playoffs. we can play the "team x lost" to let in another team excuse every season. The bottom line is McCoy's team never quit and finished strong, Philbin's team went out w/ a whimper.

Losing Gibson hurt but you had a losing record with him.

Miami was 3-3 going into the game Gibson got hurt in. He caught the first TD pass of the game before getting hurt in the 1st quarter.

Please tell me how Miami had tons of weapons on offense. If you can't then you need to retract that statement.

3-4 in games he played

I explained it, please READ

You said they had a losing record with him. They were 3-3 with him and he got hurt in the 1st quarter in a game where they had the lead at the time. How does 3-4 figure into the conversation?

It's also hilarious you criticize me for taking every word you say literally but then now you give me hell for "not reading". Which is it deflector?

I'll ask one more time. Let me know who Miami's tons of offensive weapons were.

If you don't think Miami had ENOUGH weapons then you're trying too hard to defend this team. We were in position to get into the playoffs. Our COACHES failed us. They didn't game plan correctly, they didn't manage the games correctly, and they didn't motivate the team well enough. Stop making excuses, our coaching WAS AWFUL.

I think the Harbaugh brothers are the best in the league. I am fine with Philbins ranking at this point. I would take any other AFC East coach over him right now.

As if we don't know philbin is lousy.I still say he is not the right coach for this team..

Joe Philbin is the second worst coach in franchise history, IMO. The immortal Cam Cameron is still number one in my book.

Some of people loathing of Philbin is so over the top completely out if touch with reality. Why? He has improved the teams record with each season. He was .500 last season. Exactly average.

Saying that Philbin is worse than wanny is an utter joke.

I don't find it to be true that if a team had enough weapons that they'd fail to just make the playoffs let alone do anything once they got there.

Tried to re-read your post a couple times but I wasn't very clear on what you were trying to say.
