John Clayton Reports on Ronnie...

im sure if travis had a chance to make 2 million more than that he would take it.

2 mil is 2 mil. its buisness. you should not let personal feelings get in the way of good buisness. the team sure as hell wont. Brown shoudn't eather.

true, that. people easily forget how much the players are earning for other people as well. it's not like they're causing the nfl owners to lose money. if the players make too much, quit supporting the teams and buying the gear, etc. the players make a lot because somebody else is making a lot more than they are in selling us the product that is the NFL.

ch, i like the sig line about the path. it's a good lesson to keep learning!

With a $19 or $21 million dollar check upfront... who really gives a d*mn about the back end... sheesh..

The longer the hold out continues the more it makes Ronny look like a greedy azz

Hey man! Never underestimate the back end. Boobs aren't everything!!
:smackhead: Oh?! Wrong topic. Nevermind guys.

you've got to make sure the whole thing is a good deal! don't let one good feature destroy your focus...

After all this Ronnie better be offensive MVP or rush for the most out of all the running backs taken

I saw Clayton say the bonus wasnt the "big part" of the holdup, but that is was about the "back end" of the deal. Which is SMART for todays players that never see the back end all to frequently. But did I miss it when he said they had agreed on the bonus? I didnt catch that part, I guess. Because I would say that is not what i just watched. Just that the back end was more of a hold up then the bonus, not that the back end was the only hold up.

Naw, I dont buy that.. Ronnie is the player.. he is supposed to be so anxious to get into camp and hit someone... His agent works for him and IF Ronny wasnt so greedy, he would easily say $19.5 mill is enough... lets sign!!

It's got nothing to do with greed. It has everything to do with accepting less than value for where he was picked. The $21 million represents the value that the 2nd pick is worth based on what the 1st and the 3rd picks got in their bonuses.

I've used this example before, but if the national average for compensation for a knee scope has risen 15% in the past year, yet a PPO comes to me and tells me they will only raise my compensation 5%, do you think I should sign on with that PPO or force them to match what other PPO's are paying?

I'll be damned if I sign for 10% less than other orthopods sign for, when that time comes.

That's greed.

and Travis Daniels just got a $458,000 signing bonus and he's happy to be here,I know he's a fourth round but that doesn't matter, he just wants to play...Ronnie could learn something from Travis
:shakeno: how much do you think ronnie has to do with this contract negotiations? how much do you think travis daniels had to do with his? it's the AGENTS that are doing the contract talks, blame them...when will people figure this out? besides, brown SHOULD get a ton of more money than daniels

Nah, I'll blame Ronnie ..... we heard about how he's a good guy, humble person, this & that ........ he could of stepped up to his agent long ago & said, my 1st priority is to be with my team, get it DONE NOW!!! But he didn't, isn't, hasn't .... & that is saying a little bit about his character, so yeah I'll blame him. Make no mistake, that doesn't mean I won't forgive him when he breaks one for a TD.
