Greed is going above and beyond fair compensation. It would be equivalent to Ronnie asking for the exact same contract Alex Smith got. THAT would be greed.

Contrary to the 19.5 million offer that has been posted on this board... John Clayton reported that the Fins have actually agreed to a 21 million dollar signing bonus with Ronnie. The hold up is actually about not having enough money at the back end of the contract...

It could be true, but Browns own agent said that the Dolphins upped the offer to 19.5 million, and that it was not the real problem because they lowered the demand of a 6 year deal to 5. It was the incentives, and the escalation of it that was the sticking point.

Ronnie Brown hasnt done squat on the practice field and he is snibbling about a few dollars down the road.. I dont care how you look at it or what termanolgy you care to use... it is plain GREED!!!!

For being a number 2 prospect in the 2005 draft and for being one of the better running backs in college ball and for being a rook who hasnt practiced day one in the NFL against NFL caliber players.. I think $21,000,000.00 total is more than fair for signing bonus, weekly salary and incentives for the entire length of his 5 year contract..

Shoot, I dont even think Terrel Owens pulled down a $21,000,000.00 signing bonus with the Eagles.. I know his contract is what.. $42 mill for 7 years... and he is an established super star in the NFL..

Barry Bonds, the best player in the entire MLB is being paid $7 mill a year from the Giants... so how in the world can anyone justify Ronnie Browns demands?? It doesnt make sense... :confused: :confused:

I don't know what your line of work is but the average NFL career is very short. I'm too lazy to look up what Bonds is being paid but A-Rod, is getting paid 25 million a season. Don't blame Ronnie Brown on how the NFL rookie contracts are, because it's not his fault. While we're all hoping that Ronnie Brown is a stud RB, there are busts every year look at Couch, who probably made a ton of money, but he's gotta rely on other things to make money for himself now. I guess it's different when a team cuts a player because they're not worth the money, than when a player is trying to get what he's worth, according to prior draft picks right? Atleast he's not a QB holding out, which I think is suicidal for there career.

That is such a good point, the money these players get are rediculous, and when they complain about it makes it even more rediculous.

i don't think that's Ronnie Brown so much as his agent.

the agents convince the players they deserve this, it has to be like that.... blame his agent.

It looks to me like Ronnie is going to miss 3 of the 5 pre-season games we have. Because he certainly wont play tomorrow, and even if he signed on Sunday can we get him ready for next week in time? This isn't good....i just hope we get him in very soon.....

and Travis Daniels just got a $458,000 signing bonus and he's happy to be here,I know he's a fourth round but that doesn't matter, he just wants to play...Ronnie could learn something from Travis
