Remember seeing a lot of hate for Ricky Williams back in the day around these parts when he quit. Different reasons, different situation, different skill set...and yet same attitudes towards him.
I personally don't care. If he stays, if he can play he plays, if he is a reserve then he's a reserve.
I don't think most players will really mess around much with him so as to not get in trouble with Philbin. I am sure he'll be watching closely now.
The REAL question is, how bad does he really want to be a football player? Because if he does want to play, he will suit up and play. If he thinks he can just refuse to play here and go somewhere else for big money he's got a surprise coming. At best, if released he'll get a one year min. deal and that's it. If he chooses that route, good luck to him because I doubt it'll bring him any success.
His only chance at fixing this 'issue' is to come here, work his butt off and prove he wasn't a bad draft pick. THEN can he go out into the market and demand big money. He'll have fixed his image some too by proving that he was man enough to come back here and suit up, despite the controversy, and work on his craft.
