Jon Martin Thoughts?

I have found no evidence to contradict my initial theory that Martin is a weak minded *****
that could not handle the pressure of abject failure at his chosen profession, combined
with an NFL locker room which was probably very different and injurious to his delicate,
pampered, entitled previous experiences.

I don't think there is a single member of the OLine that deserves to be paid at anything more
than average at his position, and I think we'll be suffering through another year of less than
standard line play which will probably stabalize, but not get better by any large measure.

How can you be embarrassed and show up at a Stanford game, smiling and yucking it up? Just doesn't sit right with me. He made his bed, let him squirm in it.

He seems to be fine hanging out with strippers and being the center of attention
when everything is going his way.

I think you have to cut him.

Aside from walking out on the team the way that he did......he then proceeded to potentially hurt his teammate (incognito) and the Dolphins organization by make the accusations of bullying. You could see the Phins players rallying around Incognito and supporting him through this.

As others have said, I think Martin is a bit of a "weak sister'' and couldn't take the mental stress of failing as a LT and getting moved back to RT. I think once he left the Phins, this whole thing spiraled out of control.

I think you have to cut him to protect the Miami Dolphins locker room from the drama/distraction his returning will surely cause.......and, you cut him to help Jonathon Martin himself....because if he couldn't take the ribbing and stress this past year, imagine what type of abuse he is going to get when and if he returns to the Dolphins.

It's not worth it.....

I think you keep him exactly where he is, for his entire contract. Pay him, keep him out of football, avoid
potential wrongful termination lawsuits, reach out to him (Documented) through whatever channels he
wishes contact to go through, and ride it on out.

ETA; He never wears a Dolphins jersey again, and does not play football for any other team until the end
of his contract.

"We at the Miami Dolphins placed Jonathon on his non football injury status because we
were deeply concerned for his physical and mental well being. At this time we reserve the right to
the services of Jonathon, per the contract he signed. He will continue to be a member of this organization,
and we will do our absolute best to ensure his future success as a Miami Dolphin, a professional football player,
and as a person."

And he can suck a fat **** too.

They should have an MMA match between incognito and martin. I'd pay to watch that.
Better yet a sumo match......

Lol I'm not sure Martin lasts longer than 20 secs. 20 secs because that's how long I assume it would take him to run away from Cog and to climb out and over the ring and then to find where his moms is sitting.

You're prob right, Martin would prob break a nail and sue the MMA.

This one should be some fun. Hoping that calmer heads will prevail now that the Bountygate commotion has subsided but, seriously doubt it. :)

This is a two step thread. The first is Martin ON THE FIELD as a player in 2014.

In his rookie year, Martin played 11 games ar RT, 5 at LT. He was bad on the run (-6), and gave up 6 sacks, 4 hits, and 47 hurries, bad again. He was not strong enough to play, as we all knew, but he did what he could as a 2nd round pick.

Let's compare to Lane Johnson, who played 16 games at RT. He was good on the run (+6), and gave p 10 sacks, 8 hits, and 39 hurries. He was the #4 overall pick, NFL ready, and someone everyone loved but, struggled.

Martin did spend the time, on his own, to get stronger before year #2, did improve, was still not god but, showed some promise.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Then comes Bullygate, and all the "stuff" surrounding it. He was ripped to shreds, and maybe justifiably so. That has lost most of it's impact, and now we have to figure out what to do with Jon Martin in the best interest of our team.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

IF Martin is the best available option to help our OL, is there any chance or reason to keep him. Replacing 4 guys on the OL is not gonna be easy at all, and he is cheap. Does the option of what he can do, ON THE FIELD, matter or, do we just get whatever we can for him in trade as he will be a cancer IF he came back?

Im just wondering if pro bowl voters realize there are two Pouncey's and thought it was his brother still playing.
No way he should have been voted into the pro bowl this year

Martin made a political issue of his problems. Trying to bring down a franchise. How anyone could excuse that IDK. But those on the left side of the political spectrum can and will excuse it. Because victims and issue ads are more important than football.

Thank you for that submission. I don't know how this thread managed without it. When there's a political loudmouth in a public place, I don't have to guess which side he's on. The odds are no less than -10000 favoritism.

As always, never prevent a conservative from sounding like a conservative.
