Like you said, it's all about money. I just hate that Goodell is called the Commissioner when he only represents the owners in these matters.
That's all I think about when Goodell hugs the players or slaps their hands when they are drafted. If they ever heard his perspective and priorities during back room talks with the owners, somehow I doubt many of those hugs would take place.

I remember how emotional Seau was during his relatively brief Dolphin career. There was obvious bonding with veteran defenders like Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas, and hurt in their eyes when Seau was let go. Seau made passionate comments at functions like the postseason banquet. Of all the late-career short term additions to the Dolphins, Seau quickly became more of a valued and positive member of the team and community than anyone I can think of.
Earl Morrall would obviously fit in that category, but in a different era.
