Would you dolfans be willing to trade our draft picks next year to grab Leinart at #1, assuming we pick in the top 5?

No way I'd say trade the entire draft for one player unless he absolutely guaranteed to be Marino-like.

No. We have too many needs to be wasting our draft picks trading up for a 30% shot at a good QB. If this team only had a few real needs then I could see doing so but this team has to replace nearly an entire defense over the next couple years and build a solid OL.

But, Leinhart is truly a "franchise" quarterback. I know Ditka was burned for his drafting of Ricky, but I would do it. Davey i've seen play, not to shabby, but I'd still go for Leinhart.

Doesn't matter what any of us think, everyone knows Saban wouldn't do that. How many times does he have to say, "BUILD THROUGH THE DRAFT!" Besides your giving Leinart way to much credit.

I don't think i'm giving him too much credit, he has won 2 national titles, and a heisman. I'd say that is something we could definately build on. I hope AJ does well this year, cuz I don't want to have to watch Ronnie trying to tackle big Defensive Tackles taking it to the endzone. Was that jay or AJ who threw that one?

Personally... I would.

But Nick is the boss and it isn't going to happen. That's all that matters.

Well Let's see

You have,

Rohan Davey,
David Garrard
Tim Hasselback
JT O'Sullivan
I'm forgetting a few..

set to hit free agency next year.

You also have Either Drew Brees or Phillip Rivers available via trade. So my answer would be emphatically "NO"!!!

Correction: USC won 2 National Titles, His supporting cast and coaches paved the way for those titles and that Heisman.
