Leinart

No, Saban won't trade up for Leinart unless he is within reach. This season will determine Leinart's overall capability as he has lost the OC in Norm Chow who has been the common ingredient to the success of many otherwise average QBs.

I think Nick will trade eith Zach or JT next season in order to have two 1st picks in order to go LT and QB (pending AJs performance this season).

I'm just going with the worst case scenario if AJ doesn't make us all believers next year. I'd try and get the most ready quarterback, cuz we don't have anything else behind AJ. I'd be pretty damn scared to see Gus starting with Sage or Brock as the back-up.

Fellas, I love my Dolphins and I'm pulling for them with all of my might. But we MIGHT and I say MIGHT suck so badly next year that getting Leinart will be a done deal as the first overall team in the draft.

Hang in there.

I agree as far as not hoping to have a Charger like turn around. If we pick in the top 5 i'd be willing to trade JT and a package of picks to get Leinhart.

If we pick in the top 5 -- you would trade our best player, and MORE draft picks, to move up and take him?

Yikes.

I'm assuming that Roth and the other palyers we have pan out. We've seen this time and time again, it's just the business aspect. JT will be near 30 next year, with Roth as our second pick developing, I could see it. Just like how Zach took the spot of our last linebacker. Plus, it would help our cap, I think JT's cap numbers are gonna be big next year.

Well if Houck doesn't whip our O-Line into shape, we won't have to worry about trading for Leinart, we'll be the # 1 pick anyhow!

I'm still trying to figure out who threw the one right into the gut of the DT and took it to the house. I've never seen a throw like that ever. I have my money on AJ. Hopefully, next draft the teams below us, don't need a QB. I'm sure the 49ers will be picking in the top 5 again.

We still have no idea of how good AJ might be. All we know is he didn't serve in that useless scheme behind an unsupportive OL and without any caliber RB.

He developed well during that terrible season even that horrible situation. Want some sample? Just remember Seahawks' game, we lost because of an int in the last minutes. AJ's blame. That game has a play, a potential TD, AJ missed by few. Some weeks later, like a replay the SAME play give AJ his biggest moment as a Dolphin, beating Pats in our stadium.

I'm not saying he will develop into Manning this offseason, but AJ is not what this 2004 season showed. He'll have a great RB (two if RW returns), OL will be so upgraded and the system should be more adequate for him.

Let AJ develop his skills under Linehan's system and let's cheer him or Gus this year.

I won't start thinking, planning or seeing any draftable QB until the Fins lost all statistical posibilities in playoff berth.

Right now all i think of Leinart is he didn't get in last draft.

If I was AJ, i'd seriously make a lot of calls to Drew Brees. That's one of the only few turn arounds I've ever seen. And he's had LaDanian for a few years, so something else got him to turn it up....maybe a guy named Rivers. I just don't see that same type of fear to get that motivation from a Frerrote. Hopefully, Saban will light a fire under Aj's ars.

he does not want the attention he is media shy. already graduated says he feels "safe" at USC. no way he can handle being the face of a franchise.

He is a bust waiting to happen to some poor team.

Lead footed with an average arm and a lack of confidence (remember he is hiding at USC after passing up the draft).

What's the rush for him though? I'm sure he stayed for good reasons. At least the money isn't his only motivation. He can be shy all he wants, but when the lights come on, you know he's going to perform.

Leinart is overrated, I don't want to pick him at whatever our spot in the draft happens to be if he falls that far, let alone trading up to get him.

Speaking of Brees, he will be available next year.

It's your opinion...

???? i don't see a name here that can be a franchise qb. i also think that leainart may be a product of norm chow's offense, but if he turns out like carson palmer trading up may be tempting.....this thread would have been much more relevant had we traded down this year and stockpiled picks for 2006

But if you can honestly sit here and say you thought Jake Delhomme was gonna be great, I would have to say you're a bold face liar. It's hard enough to catch Dolphins preseason's games, much less any other teams and backups, baring injury rarely make any appaerances, so how can you make that flat out bold statement.

All of this info according to an article on ESPN:

David Gerrad, has progressed to a point where I could see him having the same impact Delhomme has on Carolina. He has an arm, athletic and he's grown under Jack Del Rio, and he's making a lot more better decisions.

Rohan Davey has all the tools, not to mention he spent the last few years under Charlie Weiss's wing, He wouldn't be NE's backup if they didn't think he could come in and successfuly back up the team.

GreenBay has a history of developing starting Qb's in the NFL because Brett Farve just won't retire, so why is JT O'Sullivan an automatic bust? or not starting QB material.

Tim Hasselback has shown flashes, however bringing him in as a free agent and letting him compete is not a bad idea.

One thing the article mentioned that made a lot of sense, is these QB's came into the league with a lot of potential, but needed to be groomed. Well they're all set to become FA, and they've been groomed and been in the league for their rookie contracts, so they're set to either blossom or become career backups.

I could honestly say that I could see at least Gerrad and Davey making some team very happy.
