One reason for that was because he was injured. There is a difference between 40 time and speed. Jerry Rice had speed, but not a great 40 time. All because a receiver has a great 40 time does not mean he is going to be a bust.

Nor does it mean they are a sure thing. Speed, while a great ability, needs to blend well with the WR's other abilities. If a guy runs a 4.2 40 but gets tripped up at the first bump, he's worthless.
