Mando's new blog: History between Aponte and Ireland

Out of Aponte, Philbin, and Ireland, the only one who actually did a good job and deserves to be retained -- based solely on job performance -- is Aponte.

So even though I have questions about her role within the organization and I will not be upset in the least if she moves on to the league office, let's not pretend that she's the worst person in the world or that she's somehow sunk this franchise. Look at our cap situation before she got here, and look at our cap situation now. That's why I'm not going ape**** over firing her. Between her and Ireland, is this a trick question? She's way, way more competent at her job than Jeff was.

It does not mean she needs to get MORE power though.

It is the thing that is boggling my mind. The issue with miami has been talent acquisition not cap.

Ya because no where in America do you get more responsibilities when you succeed at you current position.

Keep that glass ceiling over her, bruh

I agree she did her job. What I don't like is, and this has been reported lots of times, she wants to be the first female GM. If she was trying to create the rift between Philbin and Ireland so Ireland got fired in the belief she could take the job, now I have a problem. I know this is basic work site politics and it happens in every industry, I don't want it to happen on my favourite football team. She has done a gerat job with the cap but if she helped the dysfunction of the team, I want her gone too. I want Philbin gone as well if he just stopped talking to Ireland. If this is true, this story, I want them all gone. I don't like all my current co-workers and I work in a very rich and competitive industry, Oil and gas, but I still talk and work with them daily. As the Head Coach, you can't just stop talking to the GM. You have a working relationship. The GM should be allowed to critique your work, he is your boss in the football org chart. If this is a true story, even if its not, I'm to the piont now that I say we get someone like Gamble and allow him to grab Roman from the 49ers when he comes free and start a new.

You think she is qualified to run the football operations? Seriously?

You like to make assumptions I see. I do know one thing, you - me- and everyone else on this board are not qualified to consult an NFL team, so how about we quit acting like we know everything? Fair?

I am asking a question...I think it is fair to say nobody is qualified on this site...do you think she has earned the chance to run the football ops? Don't dodge the question...

Where is this assumption that Aponte is going to get more "power" coming from?

Yes I do. Because that has nothing to do with personnel. Thats the business side of football, and she is absolutley qualified to run that.

John Clayton, Andrew Abramson, Jason Laconfora and Mando have all speculated that she could get more power and head football ops.
