Martin to meet with Dolphins soon to discuss future with team

Just cut his ass already. If he stayed on the team it would just be a huge circus. He would also be a pariah in the lockerroom and he might just kill himself because of that. We don't need this drama continuing.

Unless he requests his release you CAN'T cut him.

Seriously! Just think about what just went down. Take your opinion of the matter out and think about it for a minute.

Why cut him now, we may find a team that may take a chance, I mean after all he started for us since day one so he is a better player than many in the nfl.
The dolphins felt he was better than Clabo

This is an odd comment by Martin.

"Once you leave the game, you find yourself missing the relationships you formed, more so than you miss the on-the-field play," Martin said at the time. "In my brief time away, I've already -- I miss that. I miss the camaraderie and brotherhood that you form in the locker room."

hopefully there is a nice big box of kleenex and some tampons ready for him. the diva will cry to mommy unless he gets exactly what he wants.

If we can get a soda machine for him trade him if not I would release him, we need to move on and far away from JM. I was not kidding in another thread where I said I would love for the Jets or pats to pick him up.

This post has a lot of merit. Doesn't matter if he wants to come back or whatever, he has a massive upper hand legally. He can actually sue for lost wages for all the years of his expected playing lifespan. And if he instead tries to join a team and doesn't, it could get worse then. He can sue Miami and the NFL. I have no idea why some think this thing is done.

There is something you are forgetting, Martin quit on the team without notice therefore violating the terms of his contract. The Miami Dolphins are the ones who has a case against Martin if they want to recoup the remaining portion of the signing bonus they gave Jon.

In the event Martin does play again for another team, I can't wait to see his reaction to the trash talk opposing players will give him. He will cry, literally cry. Martin's mom should have swallowed

ICYMI: Cutting Jonathan Martin could open up potential lawsuit for Dolphins http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/thed...could-open-up-potential-lawsuit-for-dolphins/

I'm actually starting to think Jonathan Martin could be back with the Dolphins in 2014.

Miami could give Martin one more shot with cleaned up locker room, see if he can play & tell his teammates to suck it up, it is what it is.

If there's a chance Martin can play in reformed environment, he's cheap option over the next two years ($1.87 million over next two seasons)

Even if Miami gets rid of Martin, he counts for almost $1 million against cap in 2014. So from pure cap standpoint, makes sense to keep him.

I keep him under contract and sit him at the front of the stadium in a dunk tank or a pie tank...you would sell out the stadium with people wanting to get a shot...

unfortunately there are more bleeding hearts that would care about his hurt feelings than a contract...

I want to see what the new OL coach John Benton and ?? can do with all the under achieves J. Martin, Dallas Thomas, Weaver, and the other scrubs. Before just dumping all of them based on emotion.

Except that the NFL's report confirms workplace harassment. The Fins and the league would like to avoid that lawsuit, and if Miami sues Martin, they force the harassment case into court.

His issue was never with opposing players. His issue was with a small group of teammates.

best case scenario for martin, miami welcomes him back, he takes a backup role, because he can't start. small possibility he starts on the right side, depends on the offseason moves, or he gets traded...i just don't know what the lockerroom will be like, if he returns...for any team.

Maybe - I would think the issue of a "hostile work environment" would be defined somehow in the CBA regarding how that would be handled. And since this is still a workplace incident, it might require to be an EEOC complaint. So I don't think it is a quick leap to a lawsuit. As an employer, you typically get yourself in trouble when you know about a situation like this and don't take steps to correct or prevent it. In this case, you have the claimant (Martin) admitting he didn't tell anyone.....so this seems to be an uphill battle regarding legal action (my opinion).

Regarding his issues, I'm not convinced that his lack of success on the field isn't a big part of his behavior. The Wells report seems to take Martin's view of why he left the team on its face value and doesn't explore the fact that his demotion back to the right side and his lack of success on the left side might also be contributing factors to his ultimate implosion. Again, just my opinion, but from what I read, his "feelings" go back to 2012 when the whole leadership council of Bush, Dansby and Long were all there.
