Matt Roth A Unstoppable Force

if he couldn't play outside linebacker in college, why could he in the pros?
yea I dont see OLB either maybe the "rush" end/olb.

Show me where I "bashed" him. Sorry, but Roth isn't a flawless player, he has criticisms.

I gave pros and cons about Roth....

BTW, isn't this a message board for discussing opinion? I don't think I was abrasive in my posts, unless someone starts with me.

On second thought, you're right...Thats pretty harsh. :shakeno:

Calling him a meathead isn't a swipe in your world? That was uncalled for dude. That is bashing.

guys guys guys i'm all for optimism but just because someone like losman7 comes in here and offers an honest opinion about the matter doesn't mean we have to bash him!! c'mon guys losman7 has offered a insightful viewpoint (apart from the "meathead" comment- that was uncalled for) that brings your optimism back down to the reality that roth is a rookie and he will have his fair share of ups and downs in his rookie season and his entire career for that matter and you've bashed the man. Surely we are more mature than that fellow finfans. I know it is frustrating having all these bills fans on a fins website (trust me i know all about it) but to be honest a few others presented a view on roth quite the same as losman7 and they escaped unreasonable judgement because they're finfans. Let's keep it civilized, and if a rival fan has something to chip in with listen to it all the same (unless its trash talk).

Puhlease. Insightful viewpoint my arse. Everyone here knows that Roth is NOT JT right now. But, the possibility does exist that he could be even better. Probable...no, but it still is possible.
A Phin Fan hanging his hat on that possibility is just him being a fan. A Bills fan on a dolphins message board attempting to extinguish said fan's hopes and to bash the player is him being a shark.

H2Ronnie23 nice post, shows you have fortitude. although seeing as you are in the middle of some sharp fins, maybe you shouldn't have attacked the fin leader.

Swoosh.Missed the point completely.

What players do in college doesn't mean they can do it in the pro level. Matt Roth has potential but that's all it is for now. He looked good in college. He isn't going to be facing college players in the NFL.

well where did the players come from then?

roth is a meat head and its not bashing..what losman7 said was actually quite accurate

most of the hype is because of this http://homepage.mac.com/scothawk/iMovieTheater58.html and of course because he is a fin :D .

WOW! Thanks for the link. That video was so cool I watched it twice. The only time I had seen Matt Roth prior to that was the Iowa-ASU game a couple years back. He is a very impressive player. I agree with others that he will need to develop his technique at the NFL level (who doesn't?) but his motor, instincts, quickness, and heart are first rate. I can see why Saban drafted him to play in his 3-4 defense. This guy will shine in that scheme in a couple of years. Anyone who has not watched that highlight reel do so now.

I can predict his 1st season already....

He'll make some big plays, get to the QB, lay some big hits, maybe even stuff an RB or 2...but he won't be on the field as much as many of you think. Especially because of all the FA vets you've brought in.

He'll also look out of place at times, chasing down Qb's on PA, while the RB runs right by, or over pursuing the QB and getting burnt on a screen. You'll probaly see a few late hits, or roughing the passers...its in Roths nature (he's kinda a meathead)

I've seen him play a bunch, i'm a diehard buckeye, so I watch alot of big ten.

Heaven help me.....I find myself agreeing with Losman7

Sorry superself...I didn't know this was the Do;hins happy funtime board, where every season is undeafested.

I'm here to talk football, cause its what I like to do.

if you would look at the Hawkeyes roster you would see why he didnt play linebacker.....the hawks have 2 of the best linebackers inm the NCAA

both of them will go in the 1st and 2nd round in next years draft.

so why put him at linebacker then?

I think it is a little early to say Roth will be better than JT but hopefully he will be. We have been lacking intensity on both sides of the ball and I think Roth is gonna spark our D just as much as Ronnie will spark the Offense.

if you read about roth they also mentioned how he struggled at linebacker and that they thought his best position was defensive end.

Then how about providing some "real" insight instead of stating the obvious and relishing in demeaning another dolphin player and fan expectations?

Most people on here already knew what you posted. No, he is NOT JT. That is NOT insight people.

Whats funny is that you a Bills fan have a following on a dolphin msg board because you wank off to emphatically stating the obvious.
Wow, thanks for talking "anti-phins" football here. Impressive...:rolleyes2
