Maybe Ireland was right for asking Dez if his Mom was a prostitute?

This thread has the bottom of the Sea written all over it.:tumbleweed:

"test his character" by asking if his mom was a prostitute, Seriously???

What about the character of the person asking the question when he already knew the answer! Please tell me how the parents character automatically equals the sons character? Some of us must be high on Ireland after a win but this was never a classy/good move and there is no justification of it regardless of how Dez Bryant ends up. Just look at how it has negatively affected Ireland's reputation and relationship with players and tell me it was a good call with a straight face..

I am not an Ireland basher but lets call a spade a spade, dude is not a nice warm hearted guy that players and people around the League love..

Mainly because of this comment....

Look, the way I see it, if you can't handle a question like that, how the heck are you going to handle hanging with guys like Incognito day in and day out? Maybe if they hadn't come down so hard on Ireland that time he might have been able to screen Martin.

Nope. Ireland was wrong and no hindsight will change that.
Hindsight does not change the fact that the question was extremely insensitive and rude.

Even for the NFL.
The fact is Ireland new the answer to the question before he asked it making it not only rude but totally unnecessary and bordering on spiteful.

First how do YOU know that Ireland knew the answer about Dez's mother?

Second what amuses me about this whole thing both in your comment in this thread and the also medias coverage of this incident is there has been no accountablility shown on Dez B. part for leading Ireland into asking the question. Really who in the right mind would say that there father was a PIMP and my mother works for my father. IF that was said by Dez then he implied right there what his mother was. Amazing if there is an incident involving 2 parties and they are not of the same race these days it appears that the lighter color the skin that is the person so blame. Accountability is what makes a man and not standing up when you are wrong makes you less than a man. Dez was wrong and not very intelligent to imply what he said in that interview with Ireland.

I thought the question Ireland asked Dez was completely appropriate considering the context. It was the obvious question to ask after what was offered before said question was asked. "My Dads a pimp and my Mom works for my Dad"(Summary). Whats the obvious next question? lol. He maybe should've toned it down some but, the questioned asked, He was completely led into it.

I was with you until YOU bought race into it. You have no clue. You are on the level with Dez dude and I bet you can't even see it. Kinda like Dez. Your post lacked intelligence. Again, like Dez.

Oh please. Any of you would give a testicle to have Dez in a Dolphins uniform. The guy is a beast and Ireland totally f'uped with that interview. He was out of line and maintains a terrible reputation across the league. It is harmful to this team that everyone thinks he's such as a-hole. God knows on the players we miss out on because they dont trust or dont want to play for a GM like that. He needs to go.

LOL. After the off season we had, you bring this BULLSH*T up.lol. You have no clue dude. Did you even watch ESPN this off season?

Hey Tannchise, is your mother a whore? I've heard some rumors about her and I really gotta know... is your mother a whore???

Does that feel okay to you? It bothered me to even type it.
First I don't think Ireland should've asked that question. However I've read that players have been asked worse, they just don't talk about the questions after the interview. Second, I don't understand why anybody would be offended by a question or statement that isn't true. the only time you should be offended by words is if they are true.

His mother being a prostitute was not irrelevant to the Dolphins. It adds another level of poverty that Dolphins coaches would have to deal with. Like the Cowboys coaches now. I would've taken Bryant then and now but, it wasn't an irrelevant question. Says a lot about the mentality of Dez.

I don't mind the guy. He just wants to win and he hates losing.

A fine quality if you ask me.

You and I do agree it should not be about race, as the same with the current Martin and Incog issue also but the media certanly does not present it that way do they? Its called sensational jouranlism. Its what sells and pads the media pockets not the right and wrong of the issues. Key buzz words which sell today are bully, race and guns.
Yes I was a journalism major, along with being a Div 1 athlete in a sport dominated by African Americans which I am happy to say was not a issue, so yes I have a clue. Accountabliltiy is what it is all about for all of us and we need to throw away the whole race thing and reclassify it as either your acting like trash or your not but thats just my opinion not the reality.

I do not look as Ireland asking a question more like reponding to Dez statement to clarrify the situation.

I don't think Ireland was wrong. When you are getting ready to invest a crap load of money in someone by giving them a job you can ask them whatever the hell you want. As an employer you wanna know what type of employee you will be getting. I think Ireland mostly wanted to know how much Dez's childhood was going to affect his character. I have some doubts about Ireland but I don't care at all about Dez Bryant's whore mom.
