Merged: 2006 Free Agents

My opinion on Miami's 2006 free agents:

Definately want back if the price is right: S Bell, WR Gilmore, FB Morris, FS Schulters, C McKinney.

WR Boston, Newson: Both these guys are on IR again, and wouldn't be surprised if neither are even offered a minimum contract.

OT McDougle: Would be surprised if he's offered any contract.

CB Thomas, LB Rogers, QB Rosenfels, OL Ephraim, LB Glenn, RB Minor: All minimum offers unless something changes big time over next 7 games.

I wouldn't mind if Boston got a min contract again. He's a former #1 WR who can still play like one if he gets it all together. McDougle could also get a min contract. But the rest I agree with.

I'd like to see us attempt to try to find a fair deal with these players: CB Nate Clements, C Trey Teague, CB DeShea Townsend, QB Jon Kitna (if we draft a QB like Leinart), CB Charles Woodson, CB Brian Williams, S Corey Chavous, CB Jerry Azumah, G Kyle Kosier, C Mike Flanagan, CB Juran Bolden, S Adam Archuleta.

Lets see at a quick glance I like:
WR Reggie Wayne
RB Edgerrin James
LB Cato June
CB Charles Woodson
FB Tony Richardson
QB Drew Brees
OT Torrin Tucker (RFA)
CB Ricky Manning (RFA)
OT Todd Steussie
G Tom Nutten

WR Reggie Wayne - would make a nice pick up for us
RB Edgerrin James - why would we need hime
LB Cato June - could use a LB to take Seau's spot.
CB Charles Woodson - definitly would be a nice pick up
FB Tony Richardson - very good, idk if hell get let go though
QB Drew Brees - highly doubt they let him go, if they do id love it.
OT Torrin Tucker (RFA)- ??
CB Ricky Manning (RFA)- I think they'll resign him.
OT Todd Steussie wouldnt be a bad pick up
G Tom Nutten - Would love to get this guy
If we were able to get Nutten, Brees, Wayne and Manning/Woodson somehow, though EXTREMELY unlikely as we probably wont get any of them, but i think right away we would be VERY competitive.

I like Jeff Backus at LT, very solid. Or Kevin Schaffer from Atlanta who is pretty solid. Mike Pearson from the Jags is a reach but has talent. Will Allen is a mid tier CB we could line up opposite Poole, Madison or who ever. Dave Ragone would be an okay project QB. Steve Hutchinson would be awesome too, I doubt he escapes Seattle. Mel Mitchell is a solid saftey from the saints although he was injured this year he was the guy tabbed to replace Tebucky Jones in NO. Gerald Hayes is a good young LB who would give us some depth and flexability he can play inside and outside. None of these guys are sexy but they could prolly all play for us or add legit depth.

I don't think we need another LB. Derrick Pope already proved himself to be a potentially great linebacker when he shut down Sean Alexander during the second half of that Seattle game in 2004.

why's he inactive half the time?

We should get Evans

Really tho, a lot of those guys look too good to be true.. Others a waste, don't need Alexander or James since Ronnie is here, and Ricky came back.

i think azumah would be a great pick-up for miami. hes big and physical, just what saban likes

i think two pretty good FA QBs are jon kitna and chris simms they both have potential and will not ask for a bunch of money and CBs there is alot of good one going into FA i would love to see deion "primetime" sanders come to miami even tho he is old he is still very good saftey will demps would be a nice pick up

Len Pasquarelli reports the Buffalo Bills will probably use their franchise tag on CB Nate Clements following the season, as he is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent.
