Redskins get Denvers pick

Not sure what the deal was but they just said on SC that the Redskins got the Broncos pick in the first.
Another team with 2 first rounders. They must be up to something or why else make a trade for another #1, 4 days before it begins?

The deal was Broncos 2005 1st Rnd Pick for Redskins 2005 3rd Rnd, Redskins 2006 1st, and 4th.

Man, the Redskins are dumb...

The Redskins have completed a trade with the Denver Broncos that brings them the 25th overall pick in this weekend's NFL draft. The trade gives the team two picks in the first round (No. 9 and No. 25) on Saturday.
In return for Denver's 25th pick, the Redskins have given the Broncos' this year's third-round pick (76th overall) and the Redskins first- and fourth-round selections in the 2006 draft.

The Redskins' list of selections for the April 23-24 draft now consists of the 9th and 25th pick in the first round; a fourth-round pick (112 overall); a sixth-round pick (183 overall); and a seventh round pick (222 overall).

The trade gives the Redskins plenty of flexibility heading into the draft.

With two first-round picks, the Redskins could potentially add two starters. In the last few weeks, the team has eyed several prospects at cornerback and wide receiver, two positions that head coach Joe Gibbs has said are needs for the team.

The team could also trade both picks and move up into the upper echelon of the first round. With a top five pick, the Redskins could select one of the elite players at cornerback and wide receiver.

Braylon Edwards of Michigan and Mike Williams of USC are widely regarded as the top wide receivers in the draft. Both could be off the draft board when the Redskins select at No. 9.

At cornerback, Adam "Pac-Man" Jones of West Virginia and Antrel Rolle of Miami are among the elite cornerbacks.

For those wishing a link, it's on the Redskin official website.

This is good news as it creates another potential trade down partner. Supposedly, Minnesota doesn't want to deal the #18 pick to move up, and would want to give us a lower round pick. If Washington is willing to deal both of their first rounders, it could force Minnesota's hand.

Unfortunately, ESPN reported at 2pm today that the Redskins will NOT be trading their #9 overall pick. So forget them trading with us...

It seems that quanity = quality in this draft. And the quality is spread more evenly, kinda like peanut butter and jelly on a roll.

Well, lets assume we get the 9th and 25th, they would have to add at the very least a 2nd and maybe even a third to move up to our spot. 25 is way down there...

But they never said they wouldnt trade their 9th and 25th as a package!!

What they "said" means nothing at this point.

The Redskins gave up way to much for the #25 pick. Now if it was a more higher pick i would understand.

Hmmm.. This trade probably WAS made in order to trade up into the top 5... 9th and 25th for the 2nd overall? They would have to add a nother pick in my mind.

Wow the skins are serious about winning now their cap situation must be more serious than guessed at. It seems like a lot to add a second 1st giving up that much future.
