Merged 5x: Quintin Williams Arrested for DUI/Drag Racing

lets not be too sure that Quintin Williams is gone, being that Saban has a guy on his roster right now that is a convicted rapist....the fact that williams had a DUI while under Saban's watch isnt gonna help obviously....

Bro... it was at 4 in the morning! The road was completely empty I am sure... It wasnt like he was weaving in and out of traffic in the middle of the day through a school zone with kids peddling their bikes across the street.

BUT... dont get me wrong here... It definatly was not smart to do when you have had a beer or 2. (plus... racing is askin to get pulled over... not something u wanna do period when you have had a couple of beers).

It was stupid... But I was just sayin it isnt as serious as some people were acting. They were talkin about it like he went on a killing rampage or something... criminal?

Perhaps criminal is a bit harsh, as others have suggested. The fact remains though that it's no little thing. Not just something to say "Oh well they were just having fun. Boys will be Boys.".

Suppose someone was leaving early for a road trip with their kids asleep in the back seat. Not saying they were doing it in rush hour traffic, but still... when you're driving that fast you can't guarantee that the road is clear up ahead.

When your drunk driving at 111 mph, it's very easy to kill not only yourself... but also any innocent bystanders who may be unfortunate enough to be out on the road at 4 in the morning.

Sure, it could just be some young kid doing something really stupid... but you hear a lot less often about kids getting drunk and shooting their best pal. I think that's influenced slightly by people's attitude that drunk driving drag racing (or 3D for short :)) is something stupid one does... whereas shooting someone is an offense that is taken seriously. I digress, however, less I turn this into a thread I have to move into the political forum.

It isn't serious because he didn't kill anyone? Stop trying to defend what could've been a potential murdurer. He knew the law, he knew what the consequences were and yet he made his choice. I bet you'd be singing a differet tune if he ever killed anyone.

Listen buddy... I have my own opinion on what the definition of a criminal is... Thats all. Never did I defend him... I just said some people were over reacting... thats all. What he did was ****in stupid... end of story.

111 mph is never safe anywhere...because even if you flinch the steering wheel wheel, you'll careen out of control and probably kill yourself and others....

As if we didnt have enough trouble at the Safety position....Q. Williams and T. Tillman apparently were out drinking and drag racing....with a Phins cheerleader.

Thanks for the info, we never would have seen it on the front page.

Guys... Criminal is not being arrested or just breaking the law. Remember in OUR legal system, you are innocent until PROVEN guilty. Once he is CONVICTED of a crime, then he is a criminal.

Anyway, besides all that symantics, he was just plain stupid. Most of us, if not all, have driven fast at one point in our lives, but 111 is pushing the envelope. ESPECIALLY if he was drinking too.

Which if he is convicted of DUI he will definitely lose his license for a MINIMUM of a year. Florida state law mandates that.

A person is a criminal because he was speeding or racing? please... it aint like he shot somebody...

And if you are refering to the DUI part? that is rediculous.... A 0.087% is nothing! That is like 3 beers. it isnt like he blew a 0.13% or something. he was 0.007 over the legal limit... he was definatly fine to drive and would never have gotten pulled over if he hadent been racing...

Brilliant.

I know many families do travel at odd times to avoid the traffic, travel while the kids are sleeping, etc. Plus, it doesn't matter when.

It's not smart whether you've had a beer or 2 or not.

different definitions of criminal maybe but have to agree with the others and the charge brought against him. there have been some horrible accidents on 595 lately and most of them occured in the early morning hours. wednesday nights are also a big outing night in davie and he was not only endangering himself but his passengers and people on the road. thats completely reckless.

however, more idiotic is the stupid chick that was drag racing him. i hope she didnt like being a cheerleader much.

they ought to bring these guys in and set them down with a copy of former dolphin rb david overstreets obituary. a guy coming into his prime cut down by drinking and driving. or maybe a copy of danny heatleys crash that killed his teammate. maybe that would wake them up.
